Broken laptop screen

There is nothing more frustrating than a broken laptop screen. Whether you have dropped your laptop or stepped on it,once the screen is cracked it has to be replaced. Having the screen repaired may cost you almost as much as a new laptop. Purchasing a new screen from the manufacturer can also be expensive. Taking the time to look online at computer message boards or resellers can help you to find a reasonably priced screen. By following a few easy steps, you can replace your cracked screen and have a functioning laptop in an afternoon.

Determine what model laptop screen will fit your laptop. Ordering a screen directly from the manufacturer can be almost as expensive as buying a new laptop. Look at online computer message boards, auction sites and retailers to find less expensive options. Disconnect any power source, including the battery pack, from your laptop before you begin. Locate and remove the four to six screws that hold the bezel, or plastic frame cover, in place. The screws sometimes have small plastic or rubber covers over them. Pull the plastic bezel away from the screen cautiously, working around the edge. Some bezels snap in and out of place. A small flat-head screwdriver may be helpful in prying the edge of the bezel away from the screen. Pull the screen forward gently. You will find two main wires behind it. The ribbon-like wire, or video cable, is usually taped in place. Remove the tape and disconnect the video cable from your broken screen. Remove the broken screen from its metal frame. Connect the new screen to the video cable and pop it into the metal frame. Replace the tape, plastic frame and screws. Power up your computer and test your new screen. Hope this helps.

Side mini door wont open on my 99 f-150

The plastic ends of the cables that are fixed so the inner cable moves freely to pull the locking mechanism desintegrated causing it to be inoperative. The cables are not sold alone. You have to buy the whole door locking mechanism to fix the problem. However, here is an idea. Take two small pieces of wood and hold them together with a C-clamp. Then take a rotary tool and carve a groove, wider than the cable cover, at the woods' joints to place later the cable end into the groove. Drill a small hole at the wooden side to let the inner cable come through it on the side, while the cable cover sits inside the carved groove. Place a small nail to hold the cable in place. Prior to place the cable in place, take a candle and spread a film of resin inside the carved groove. Put a small amount of grease where the inner cable enters the cable cover to prevent the cables to be glued. Pour epoxy inside the groove with the cable inside as explained. The epoxy must cover the cable. Let it harden. Remove the C-clamp. Using the rotary tool, carve a slot at the epoxy end where the cable comes outside, to place it in its site where the original broken plastic was located to do its job holding the cable. Now the door mechanism will perfectly work without having to buy the whole door lock array. Use West System epoxy. is my email if you want to see photos of the process. It saved $350. bucks for me and the doors are working good.

2003 mitsubishi rear seat release is broken where is the access point

Im pretty certain you need to remove the rear inside panel where the release is,to get to the cables route to the seat where it connects to release it,so I would suggest that you look carefully for retaining screws or small roundish covers over the screws to help remove the panel to get to the cable and you will need to pull on the trim cover as it has clips going into the inside panel to hold it as well(pull towards you)BUT Look first at the seat where the cable attaches to make sure a small retaimimg clip hasnt come off instead!

Digital camera screen broken

A cracked screen will cost you, but maybe not as much as you think. Instead of replacing the whole , you can spend about $300 and replace the screen yourself. All you need is a small screwdriver.

1)Turn off the power to your screen and unplug all cables connected to it.
2)Remove the battery, if one is installed.
3)Locate the covered screws around the cracked screen. Remove the rubber/plastic covers, then unscrew the screws.
4)Gently remove the plastic frame around the cracked screen and set it aside.
5)Disconnect any power cords or cables going into the LCD screen.
6)Remove the cracked screen and slide the new screen into place. Replace any tape or plastic fasteners that hold it in place.
7)Reconnect all internal cords to the screen.
8)Screw in the frame and replace all the screw covers.
9)Reconnect the power supply and all external cables to the LCD screen and switch it on.

Broken sun visor

On the plastic cover take a small screw driver and pry one of the open ends, in other words if you look at the cover carefully it is shaped like a U, pry on the top right side of the U to un-snap then rotate or twist the cover to remove. Then you can get to the screws that hold it into place/

I have a Fuji FinePix S5000 and the battery door catches (on the body of the camera) have broken off. Replace complete body assy??? I am sure mine is not the only one. any help appreciated.

I had this problem also (see below).

After getting poor results with the duct tape solution, I discovered another work-around. This should work whether it is chipped lugs on the door or on the body.

Firstly I used an old camera flash bracket that screws into the tripod socket, and this holds the battery door in place quite securely. However it was too long, so I cut and filed a piece of aluminium 25mm (1") wide by 2.5mm thick to the right length (around 100mm/4") and shape, and made a hole for the bracket screw.

End result is not exactly like new, but more functional than the duct tape and does not further damage the actual camera:

Loose AC connection to electronic piano

Your problem is most likely a broken cable in your ac cable. Try to replace the cord first (a place like Radio Shack will have replacements). If it's not the cable, then you might have a broken soldering point inside your keyboard. It might be too small of a crack to see, but redoing the soldering points should work.
