SOURCE: Our Tefal automatic rice cooker

Hi,

Your problem depends on the purchase of the product. If you have purchase it before long time and now you are getting this issue. Then it is due to bad Heating plateor Sensor. The heating element heats the nonstick bowl.If it is defective it will not properly heat properly only. But in your case overheats due too because of the sensor not sensing the heat properly. The sensor needs a replacement.

If it is new product then the the rice is burnt it is 100% sure due to the procedure you follow. There is a level
to add water for the amount of rice.

This manual would help you out more on the water level.Just have a walk through on it.

Click here to download the manual.

Thank you for using fixya.

SOURCE: I HAVE A TEFAL RICE

I usually use 1 cup of rice to 1 1/2 cup of water. Generally 2 to 4 servings will take up to 17 minutes. 10 to 20 servings will take up to 35 minutes.

SOURCE: I have lost the manual

If you were to log on to the manufacturer's web site, I think you will be pleasantly surprised as usually one is able to download, by model number, Customer Instruction Manuals, list of Dealers for spare part supplies as required.

Just Google the manufacturer's name and follow the links. Make certain you are directed to the manufacturer's web site as some search engines direct you to other sites and they charge for the information that is normally free of charge.

I hope this helps.

SOURCE: Iv'e purchased a 5 cup

I am sure that there is some official rice water ratio, but my method works for me.

1. Rinse the rice until no more "white" comes off of it and the water runs clear.

2. Let sit for one hour in water.

3. Drain water.

4. Add water to 1" over the top of rice and start in cooker.

5. Add 1 cup of water per day until rice is used up.

I need the recipe for cooking rice in Crystalia Steamer/Rice Cooker

The general rule for cooking rice whether its in a rice cooker or a deep pan is to rinse the rice three times, put the same amount of water in the cooker (1 cup water to 1 cup rice). Turn on the cooker, let the rice cooker complete its cycle. Let the rice sit in the cooker for 10-15 minutes to steam. Serve.
You can vary the amount of water depending upon whether you want drier or moister rice. Enjoy.
