Question about Toshiba Satellite U205-S5034 Notebook
You can try running a system restore and restore the system to a point when the sound was working. Probably a software conflict has caused the problem. You can also run a hardware diagnostic that is usually included with the notebook.

Hello; Just wanted to make sure all your drivers are updated. You may also Right click on your little speaker icon on the right bottom of your screen, where the time is. Then right click on the speaker, choose "PLAYBACK DEVICES", another box will populate giving the choices of speaker settings, Then click on your speakers or Headphones, click "CONFIGURE". Then you will get a test box and you select the test button. You may be stuck on headphone settings, Just go to the speaker, you can also go into properties for more selections for different alerts. When you right click the little speaker, you should see a list of what is currently installed. You can right click your speaker icon, select "VOLUME CONTROL OPTIONS", there you can apply the speaker you want to use as well. You may have to click around and test them. I had to, Hope this helps
