Hi mirhom,

Error: "201 Paper Jam"; Paper jam is commonly caused by A5 paper; paper jamming directly after exiting the fuser. The solution for this is If you are using A5 size paper, make sure it is cut long grain.
"Grain" refers to the alignment of the paper fibers in a sheet of paper. Paper is cut either grain short, with the grain running the width of the paper, or grain long, with the grain running the length of the paper. The orientation of the grain contributes to the rigidity of print media and affects feed reliability.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

    Hi mirhom,

If changing paper did not resolve the problem this could be caused by a defective fuser exit sensor assembly. Try to enter the diagnostic tests menu, select Base Sensor Tests, select Output Sensor Test and check the fuser exit sensor for correct operation. If the test fails, check the internal fuser cabling, DC auto connect on the fuser frame, fuser DC auto connect to the system board cable, and the cable connection to J14 on the system board.

You may also check the flags on the fuser. There should be two flags that stick up, one is the exit sensor, the other is the narrow media sensor. It is possible that one of them has popped out of place or the tip has snapped off of it.

    Hope it helps.

    Thank you for using FixYa.

I keep getting a paper jam 201 every time I print. Then I have to open it up and take out the cartridge. What is causing the paper to jam?

A 201 paper jam error indicates the paper did not reach the fuser sensor within the proper time period. This usually indicates the fuser has a problem and needs to be replaced. The part number for the fuser is 56P1333 and it is user installable. You can get one from many places online such as Amazon.com

4TH LIGHT FROM THE TOP KEEPS COMING ON LEXMARK E232

What this light sequence means that the printer has a paper jam.

When a paper jam occurs, the printer stops and the operator panel's Paper Jam light and Continue button lights come on. Press and release Continue twice quickly to display the specific secondary error paper jam light sequence.

How to clear Paper Jam

Press Continue button twice quickly to see the secondary error code.

To get the secondary error codes

When the Error light (!) and Continue button lights are both on, a secondary error has occurred.

When the Paper Jam light (4th light) and Continue button lights are both on, a paper jam secondary error has occurred.

Press and release Continue button twice quickly to display the secondary error code light sequence.

Press Continue button to resume printing once all the jammed pages are cleared from the paper path.

We recommend that you clear the entire paper path when a paper jam occurs.

To clear a paper jam:

1 If you are feeding paper from a tray, remove the tray, and then remove any jams.

2 Open the front cover and remove the print cartridge assembly.

NOTE: Do not leave the print cartridge assembly exposed to direct light for an Extended period of time. Extended light exposure can cause print quality problems.

3 Remove any jams in the area behind the print cartridge assembly.

4 Lift the flap at the front of the printer and remove any jams beneath the flap.

5 Open the rear exit and remove any jams.

6 After you have cleared the jams, reinstall the print cartridge assembly, make sure all printer covers and trays are closed, and then press Continue button to resume printing.

NOTE: The printer reprints the pages that caused the paper jam.

Even after removing thye paper the status shows papaer jam. and unable to print

Try to use some compressed air, on the back inside of the printer, probably one of the sensors is jammed with dust or a tiny piece of paper.

Lexmark E 342 n paper jam with error code 201

According to the LexMark support page, this is most often related to not getting the print cartridge assembly properly positioned. (Left and right sides not fully in place). Another possible source is paper in the output tray when using the double sided printing feature. (This leads to grabbing an extra sheet when it tries to retrieve the paper to print the second side. Paper stock thickness will change the number of pages printed before this happens.).

I hope this helps.

Paper jam. caused error print unable 30

"Machine Error 30" (or "Unable to Print") indicates either a simple problem such as a paper or part of a paper stuck inside the machine, which of course is solved by opening the machine as much as possible and remove the reason for the jam.
Even a ripped part of a paper will be able to cause the paper, so it's important to be careful when taking jammed paper out to not rip the paper (do this by carefully pulling the paper among the same way as it would go when printing, not the opposite direction).

However, if that doesn't work, the error is mechanical (but still most likely caused by the jam, either a sensor getting dirty and unable to do it's work, or actually getting broken), and there isn't much you can do. If the message comes back right after turning on the machine, you'll have to have service performed on the machine.
