I prefer cast iron. Cast iron heats more evenly and retains temperature better. If they are falling apart from rust, junk them. If they just have surface rust and no holes, all you have to do is brush them with a steel brush at high heat. Wipe them off with a wet rag and then rub it with an onion to provide a teflon layer. if it is really heavy rust, spray oven cleaner on them and hose off. After use or for storage, clean them and then wipe them down with a cooking oil soaked rag. The oil will reduce rust build up.
Sorry, we don't sell anything on FixYa. However, if you get the dimensions of the grate you needand search around on Google for some the Grill Parts & Accessories sites and you're more than likely to find what you need. I will caution you, Stainless Steel Grates are expensive. Plus, they do not do well with charcoal. The charcoal gets so hot against, that it will pop and pit. It's not like doing it on a gas grill, where the heat is moist and the stainless retains it's integrity. Unlike coal or charcoal, which is an extremely dry heat. You may be better off with Cast Iron. Once it's seasoned, it should do better than Stainless Steel.
Without knowing the brand of grill you have and the model number, it's impossible to provide you with an Owners Manual. However, most burner problems are related to a need for cleaning and/or the gas regulator may be partially locked up. In which case, turning the tank valve OFF, disconnecting the hose from the tank and waiting 5 minutes before reconnecting, will generally solve the problem. But, only if you turn the tank valve ON VERY, VERY Slowly (Slow motion, slow).

If the outdoor fireplace was put together correctly, it shouldn't have cracked under normal use. I would contact the manufacturer about a refund/replacement. Outdoor fireplaces in general are designed to stand up to very high heats and outdoor conditions. I do not believe that you can replace just the bowl. You might be able to seal it with a high heat resistant sealant/bond, but I would try to get a refund. It sounds like your grill might have been defective.
do not use any chemicals!!! just whipe it off with old newspapers or kitchen absorbent paper and that is all.
leftover fat will preserve metal from rusting, next time when you lit it, when it is hot, just splash bit of beer (yes, i do not joke!) on the surface, allow it to run off and then whipe rest off. alcohol and acid in beer will lift old fat and refresh the surface, adding as well flavour to new bake.
spray your fat and cook as usual.
that is all clening which is required for cast iron plates.
