Question about REI Clipper Tent '09 Special Buy Color GOLDENEARTH Size ONE SIZE

1 Answer

I have borrowed a 2002 REI Clipper tent that has been in storage.I just set it up and the tent floor and inside of the rain fly are sticky. How do you recommend I clean them? It is sticky throughout, not just in spots like food or drink. Do you think the tent is just getting old? Or maybe someone sprayed a rain shield product on it? Thank you

It sounds like something soaked in, either a rain shield product that wasn't allowed to dry before putting the tent away or a leak during storage. Tents can be cleaned with mild cleansers, but it's best to try just plain warm water first, as cleansers can leave residue behind that will impact the rain resistance of the fabric and attract more dirt. If you do have to use a cleanser, rinse the tent well afterward! Make sure the tent dries fully (including the seams) before putting it away again. Here are more detailed instructions:

I need instructions for 89034 17x15 moab

Instructions
  1. Select a flat camping area and clean the area of sticks and rocks. Remove the tent from the bag and spread out the tent body with the floor on the ground. Assemble the tent poles by connecting the attached sections at the ferrules. Set the poles on the ground and separate by size.
  2. Locate the three long sleeves on the tent body. One sleeve is horizontal over the screen room and the other two cross the main tent body to create an "X". Locate the three long poles and slide one through each sleeve. Place the corresponding pins in the end of the poles. The poles will flex and erect the tent body. This step is best attempted with two or more people.
  3. Attach the clips to the exposed sections of the tent poles. The clips are attached to the ten fabric and will add rigidity to the tent. Locate the next largest pole and insert it through the sleeve on the screen house. Locate the metal grommets where the screen room meets the main tent and place each end of the pole in a grommet.
  4. Locate the two smallest poles. These are for the side rooms. Insert one pole through each of the side room sleeves. Attach the ferrule of one steel pole to each end of the side room pole. Insert the corresponding pins in the end of the upright poles to support the side rooms.
  5. Pull on each end of the tent to ensure the floor is tight. Use a rock to pound stakes through the ground loops on the tent. Place the floor mat in front of the screen room door and use stakes to secure the mat to the ground.
  6. Place the fly on the tent and make adjustments until the shape of the fly matches the tent. The fly will only cover the top of the screen room and the entire body of the main tent. Locate the D-rings on the base of the tent and attach the fly hooks to the closest rings. This will tighten the fly to the tent body.
  7. Locate the guy ropes on the fly. Pull the ropes to the ground at an angle and pound stakes through the loops to anchor the tent to the ground.

How do i put buzz lightyear tent together

If it is like mine (year, etc) you simply first lay out the ground cloth (if you have one) long-wise, then lay the tent body on top of the ground cloth. Next, stake out both ends of the tent (at head and feet of tent). Now put your poll sets together (the large one is for near the head of the tent, the short for the near foot of the tent). Go ahead and put the polls in the aligned grommets (matching the ground cloth grommets with the tent-body grommets). Once you have the two polls inserted, then clip your tent to them. Now, with your tent erect, Place your fly on top and drape over the tent accordingly; then fasten the fly to the tent using the belt-type nylon clips to do so. In this case the fly does not need to be "staked", rather "belt-clipped" together instead. That's it, your're done. Don't be alarmed if your tent floor seems as though it's lifting off the ground in some areas, this is normal. Just go ahead and put your bed role in the tent and prepare your area as normal.

How can I reduce condensation in the tent?

Condensation is the build-up of moisture inside the tent due to differences between the temperatures inside and outside of the tent. Condensation sources can be weather conditions like high humidity or rain; people are also condensation makers through breathing and skin evaporation. In order to reduce condensation it is important to make sure that dried cooler air flies into the tent and the moist warm air escape out. It is important to make sure that the body and ceiling of a tent are made from breathable and mesh fabrics. It is always recommended to open door and window when possible or have fans on to ensure the air circulation.

Instructions required for folding a pop up tent please ! sportura blitz 2

I recommend folding it in half, with the top of the tent on the inside (to protect the more delicate fabric that comprises the top). If the tent comes with a stuff sack, use the length of the sack to determine if the tent should be folded in half again. Fold it in half a again or start rolling the tent - this will form a "cylinder" that you will slide into the stuff sack.

If there is a rain fly, it can be folded and rolled in the same manner, but together with the tent body.

The goal is to make the tent (and fly) compact as possible, and with a minimal number of sharp crease in the waterproof fabric that can cause the fabric to weaken.

Hope this helps.

I have a two man Ozark tent. How do I set it u p?

Two poles. They pass up through the sleeves on the outside of the tent, across the top, through the sleeve on the diagonally opposed side, then each end is stuck into the pocket attached at each corner. They cross at the top. Then the small rain fly attaches with bungees over the top.

Go to Home depot and buy a tube that fit the pole. Cut it into 5 or 6 inches for the broken areas. It costs me less than 2 dollars. Let me know how it turn out on yours.
