Question about Whirlpool Dishwashers

1 Answer

My Whirlpool dishwasher was running when there was a power failure, and now there is no power whatsoever. The power failure happened when the machine was on final rinse and drain. Water is still in the bottom of the dishwasher. We have reset the breaker and checked the plug. Nothing will come on. It's dead.

Most Whirlpool manufactured dishwashers have a thermal fuse, located inside the operator console. When tripped, the dishwasher will not run. A power outage can cause the thermal fuse to trip. It cannot be reset and has to be replaced, if bad. Please post back with your COMPLETE MODEL NUMBER (located around the door opening) so I can determine the configuration of your dishwasher and explain how to access any potential fuses. -->

i may be having that issue too. Ours stopped in early phase, water is still in bottom. We run it at night, so didn't notice any power outage to it. Other appliances were all normal, but i'd like to troubleshoot it. Can you give me directions? Model GU2300XTVQ3

Whirlpool quiet partner 1 won't drain all the way suddenly

Hello.

HERE ARE TOOLS NEEDED AND INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO SOLVE THE DRAINING PROBLEM BELOW.

(A) Clean cloth(s)
(B) Wrench (if necessary)

Whirlpool brand dishwashers come in black, brown, stainless steel or white finishes and a variety of sizes as well. Most Whirlpool dishwashers are energy efficient, and many have features such as a sanitizing rinse, enhanced sound effects, large capacity tubs and adjustable shelves and racks. However, none of these features will help users much if the dishwasher is not draining. While this issue may require professional repair, some troubleshooting steps may help determine if there is a relatively simple cause for the problem.

1 Verify that the Whirlpool dishwasher has not lost power due to a power failure or motor overload. Wait a few minutes to see if the motor automatically resets and resumes operation. Reset the circuit breaker or fuse if necessary.

2 Press or select "Start" to resume the cycle if the dishwasher was stopped mid-cycle. Choose a new drain cycle if necessary to remove excess water from the unit.

3 Turn off the dishwasher and unplug it from power. Examine the connection between the dishwasher and the garbage disposer, usually located underneath the kitchen sink. Make sure the disposer knockout plug was taken out between the two.

4 Run the garbage disposer in the kitchen sink to remove potential blockages.

5 Remove objects that may be blocking the drain on the dishwasher. Clean out the drain hose at the rear of the dishwasher.

Thanks.

I had a black out and the dishwasher was running at the time. The dishwasher emptied out all over the floor. when the power came back on the dishwasher was flashing an error code 4. I rang Whirlpool for...

The trouble looks to be little confusing. Whenever the power fails
during mid cycle this happens. Try running the balance cycle.

Since you say the water is fully drained, try adding water manually to
the wash chamber to certain level ( not to over flow ). Give a try!

There should be a master reset for which, you are requested to check
the user manual

Sounds like it is a bad door seal. Recommend replacing the door seal and making sure the door is shutting square and not bent.
