SOURCE: Ford Focus Radio Code

Your local Ford Dealer will be able to supply you with the code, although they will charge you for it. Other than that a lot of of car radio sellers will put a new code in for you for about a fiver.

SOURCE: car stereo lock up

The CD that is mentioned here does not come with the unit because it is actually a CD that you create yourself as in you insert your favorite CD, and the stereo then makes a note of how many tracks are on the CD and the length of each one and stores that information as your "KEY CD"
There is also an option at that time to disable the "KEY CD" feature all together since it is very easy to forget exactly what CD you used at that time later on down the road and hopefully it was a store bought CD that you can go out and buy again if you remember but no longer have it.. (don’t ask me how i know this...lol)
But there is NO over-ride code or quick fix for the problem that I know of..

I was a certified car stereo and alarm installer for many years and we were even authorized eclipse dealers and even we could not get the codes and everyone that buys the stereo is informed about the special security feature of eclipse called: ECLIPSE Security Network (ESN) which is basically Do NOT ever call that phone number that you see there because the police are automatically sent to the location of whoever is calling that number) its a trick number for thieves.

Now if for some reason that someone has discovered a way around this "key cd" problem then I would be curious to know what that is ...because with all of the stereo knowledge i have I am 99.9% certain you will have to replace the unit with out the cd.. Or maybe find out what the top ten CD’s were on the music charts at that time and try those and maybe get lucky..

Sorry

Good luck

UPDATE: I can not believe i found this info just now and i do not know if this is for real or not but heres a link anyway that apears to have the unlock procedure for all eclipse models..

SOURCE: I had disconnected the battery

Eclipse radios are set up so the first cd inserted in the cd is used to unlock the radio if power is ever disconnected or the radio is stolen. You are going to have to call eclipse and see if they will unlock the radio for you. If the radio has been reported stolen, chances are they will not help you. You should be able to contact them at their website. If you can get the radio out of the dash, there is a phone number for eclipse on the chassis also.

Battery was removed from car and now stereo is asking for a 4 digit code... what and where do i find this code???

if you purchased this car when new, you would have a card with the code included in the car booklets

if purchased use and do not have the card, you would have to contact dealer, with your VIN number they will retreive the code

Need code number for 2000 mitsubishi eclipse to turn radio on

this is quite a common fault which i hear, the only way to obtain the code is to hope the previoous owner or the person who fitted stereo is wise enough to write it down in your handbook. if it a factory fitted stereo then the manufacturer keps a log of it and will provide it to you for a small fee.

Maintenance Service light

the best thing to do would be, take the car to autozone(they will read the codes for free) and ask them to check and erase the codes on your car.

you can also disconnect the battery for 20-30 minutes. if your want do it this way, make sure you have the code for your stereo first.

2001 stereo code.

The stereo's ESN Feature has activated. High-end Eclipse stereo's have a feature to prevent theft where if the battery is disconnected from the stereo, it must be "unlocked" with a "key" CD, that comes with the CD player but can later be changed to a personal CD of the owner. You would need to either call Eclipse and see if they can de-activate it (you'll need to ship it to them, if they even do it, because it is a security feature after all.) Or you need to talk to the last owner of the vehicle and have them unlock it.

Cd/stereo not working

Hi, The "sec" could probably stand for security lock. It is a feature to discourage car stereo theft but is prooving to be more of an owner's problem when battery dies or are replaced or simply when disconnected for maintenance or whatever. The sad part is you have to get in touch with the original dealer of the car who would probably ask you for registration papers, proof of ownership (deed of sale), VIN, make/model/serial number of the stereo and/or other documents. I know its a bit of inconvenience but there is not other way since they have to check a database and fill in so many data themselves. I just hope the dealer is friendly enough. Good luck and kind regards.
