Is there a diagram that shows where the Wave Guide Cover & Magnetron are (Ref. Ans #1)

You need to be SUPER cautious around microwave ovens the capacitors in there hold thousands of volts, inadvertently touching one can kill you! Its happened many times. Also make sure you NEVER hit the magnetron or even scratch the surface of the rod it will release poisonous gas thats deadly. You are better off getting it serviced by a pro.

Frigidaire prof. series microwave PLMBZ209GCA not working. Display comes on. No sound (fan). Dont know if microwaving function is working properly or not. Any suggestions?

Two things could have happen to your machine.
One the magnetron is dead and needs replacement.
Second the high tension power which supplies power to the magnetron could have been screwed up and need to be replaced or repaired.
The fact that the fan is not running I suspect it may be a power board issue.

I have a GE Profile Spacemaker 2.0, MOD Number: JVM2070SK02 Last week the thing stopped heating anything. Sounds fine, but won't heat. Any tips?

okay thats sounds like you have to take your microwave to a repair man.the HV capacitor can be open or the magnetron is bad these 2 components i mention are responsible for the heating of your microwave if they go bad..then your microwave wont heat.good luck.

Microwave oven makes a load humming noise & it made a loud pop noise

It sounds like the magnetron may have either failed or is not being supplied with the extremely high voltage required to run it.
Make sure the !!!!capacitor is discharged!!!!! before attempting any sort of repair.
Check the door interlock switches first then the high voltage diode with either an AVO model 8 on high resistance range for short circuit, the capacitor can fail and go short circuit, the feed fuse on the primary of the high voltage transformer and then finally, the magnetron is best checked by substitution.
Hope that helps.

My Frigidaire microwave (PLMV169DCD) has recently stopped heating, but otherwise seems to work fine. I had a repair man come and look at it and said it was the magnetron. I purchased a used magnetron and...

A used magnetron is not a good idea at all to try and you can not test a diode with a digital meter. 99.9% of the time your transformer will start burning the wire windings when it fails. Also a magnetron can test good and still be bad. Without being there and looking at this myself the best advise I can give is to check the door switches, and if they are good just replace the Magnetron and Diode. You can order reasonably priced microwave replacement parts here http://allapplianceparts.com/. The mags they sell are better than most oem ones and are cheaper! You can also pick out a replacement diode from them.

Frigidaire microwave won't heat

Generally the magnetron (the part that heats the food) is the cause if everything else still works and it only works once in a while, possibly a short, but not as likely. Unfortunately replacing the magnetron is barely cheaper than buying a new microwave though you can check out repairclinic.com to decide whether you want to attempt replacing the part.

Let me know how this works out for you.

Fridigaire microwave does not turn on

Your aren't giving me much to work with but I have fixed a bizillion microwaves and in most cases they blow the fuse (probably 18 amps) and it is because the HV diode shorted. So both would need to be replaced. Not a big expense. I would think about $50 from a reputable company. There are some exceptions of course. If the unit is very old it could have a bad magnetron in which case it is not worth repairing. The unit may only need a fuse. Everytime you hit go the microwave makes a very hard demand on power and over time the fuses can blow. Let's hope for the best a new fuse. Let me know how this works out.

Plmv169dcc WILL NOT HEAT. dOESN'T MAKE NOISE. ALL ELSE WORKS

the unit inside the microwave that heats food, called the "magnetron" has gone bad or the circuits that power the magnetron have failed. if its under warranty still, send it back to the manufacturer. if not you can call some repair shops and see how much it would be to service it, but its most likely going to be cheaper to purchace a new microwave since they are relatively cheap these days

No heat from microwave oven

How old is your oven?? If more than 2 years, it may have a bad magnetron tube or other high voltage components. You will need to have it checked by a qualified technician to get an accurate repair estimate that includes everything it needs.
