SOURCE: Vacuum cleaner not picking up and sometimes spits ouit dirt

Check to see if bag (or if not bag then chamber is full).

Check to see if filter is clean.

If your vacuum has a bag, check to see that it is properly mounted.

Sorry I couldn't be more specific but it would help if you would specify what type of vacuum you have, whether you are using the hose or just the floor part, and where it is spitting the dirt from.

Hope this helps. If not, let me know the answer to the above questions and we'll go from there. Good luck!

SOURCE: Popped the lid open to

Hi bndennis,

Please check the spring on your lid, it may be keeping the door open. Miele vacuum cleaners mainly use a spring concept for keeping lids open - merely pushing it down will lock it at the bottom.

Kind Regards :-)

My Miele S3141 canister began acting strange this morning. No suction...so I took off the hose and checked for blockage, (nothing). Now I can't get the hose back on the canister. It just slips ar

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
Air filter:
If the vacuum cleaner won't pick up dirt and has no suction the air filter might be clogged. Remove the filter and either clean or replace it as needed.
Exhaust Filter If the vacuum cleaner won't pick up and has no suction the exhaust filter might be clogged. Remove and clean the filter, replace it if its torn or damaged.

Vacuum Hose If the vacuum cleaner won't pick up and has no suction the vacuum hose might be clogged. Remove the hose from the vacuum cleaner, stretch it out straight, shine a bright flashlight in one end and try to see light through it. If no light can be seen, use something to run through the hose and free up the obstruction.
Vacuum Bag If the vacuum cleaner won't pick up and has no suction the vacuum bag might be full. Clean or replace the bag as recommended by the manufacturer.

Dust Cup AssemblyIf the vacuum cleaner won't pick up and has no suction the dust cup assembly might not be installed tightly, or it might be cracked or broken. The dust cup must seal tightly in order to produce the right amount of suction. If it is cracked or broken, replace it. Most glues and adhesives will not successfully seal the crack.
Blower Wheel If the vacuum cleaner won't pick up and there is no suction, the blower wheel might be jammed or broken. Check the blower wheel to be certain it turns freely. If it doesn't, check to see if there is anything rubbing against it. If not, but it's hard to turn, the motor is most likely the problem.

Dyson suction problem

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your Dyson. If the cleaner won't pick up via the cleaner head and will not stand upright, the valve carriage needs realigning. This is simple to do - please follow the steps shown in the video below.

This should resolve the issue, but for any further assistance or advice with your machine, please call us free on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).

Best wishes,

Dyson dc07 not picking dirt in up right position

Hi Madhuri,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC07. If the machine won't pick up through the cleaner head, there may be a blockage somewhere. The easiest way to check for this is to follow the steps shown in our online support guide:

http://www.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=4&product=DC07-SY-HEPA_US

It's also a good idea to wash the filter - in normal use, this should be done at least once every 3-6 months, as shown in the video below. Use cold water without detergent, and allow at least 12 hours for it to dry completely before replacing it.

This should resolve your issue, but if you need any further assistance, please call us free on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Kind regards,

Jack

My problem is with DC24 brush wouldn't turn even after reset button has been pressed?

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear about this - please see the video below, and check that you've followed all of the steps. Also make sure that you recline the cleaner into the vacuuming position before you test the brushbar, as it won't rotate when the cleaner is standing in the upright position.

If you're still having difficulties after attempting this, please get in touch with us directly so we can help. If it's necessary to replace the cleaner head, this should be covered by our 5-year guarantee, as long as the cleaner has been used in accordance with the terms and conditions listed in the user guide.

You can call us free on 1866MYDYSON, or email askdysonUS@dyson.com. We'll look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,

Shark SV736R motorized brush won't rotate

The 2 metal pins of the motorized brush are not in contact with the vacuum cleaner. or the Motorized brush is clogged up. You have mentioned that it is cleaned, but still give a thorough inspection. For the metal pins, firmly insert the motorized brush into the air-intake nozzle. This will connect the motorized nozzle to the unit power supply.

My dyson ball fell over and now the ball won't roll properly and not picking up... Please can u advise how to fix the issue

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC24. If the Ball will not roll, it may be because the filter cover or HEPA filter are out of position. Please see the video below for guidance on how to check both of these are correctly fitted in place.

If the cleaner doesn't seem to be picking up as well as usual, I'd recommend running through these troubleshooting steps to check everything is correct with the machine:

If you have any further questions about using or maintaining your cleaner, please get in touch with us directly by calling free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US).

The cyclone will not work.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're concerned about your Dyson cleaner. If you're worried that the dirt in the clear bin doesn't seem to be spinning, I can confirm that the debris won't always spin. Sometimes it gets stuck to the side, or just held in place by gravity. This does not affect performance, and is nothing to worry about.

If your cleaner doesn't seem to be picking up as well as usual, you may need to wash the filters or check the cleaner for blockages. The easiest way to do this is to follow the steps shown in our online troubleshooting guide:

http://www.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=1461&product=DC14-ANIMAL_US

If you have any further concerns about your Dyson, it's probably best if you get in touch with us directly. One of our experts will be happy to run through some troubleshooting over the phone with you and provide further assistance. You can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US).
