Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I have a SanDisk ExtremeIII 4 GB flash that I cannot get the photos off of. I see they are there on the camera, but when I put it into my brand new card reader, it does not recognize that there are any photos there. I know it is a problem with the flash b/c other flashes read properly. Can I send this in to be repaired; at a minimum, get my digital images?

click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll down universal serial bus controllers you should see a yellow question mark?

right click to reinstall drivers

if you can see your usb drive but its not working

ports(com&lpt)right click update driver if this fails to fix the problem

click start control panel administrive tools computer management disk management right click on your drive select properties click tools you should see click check now click start two boxes automatically fix files and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors place then a tick in both boxes then select check now start or you might tick one box then return after its finished the first repair then return and tick the second box you should not do anything while the chkdsk utility is in progress any input may damage this drive

if this fails to fix the problem

check the USB leads that attach to the motherboard usually red white green black make sure they are securely seated and have no dust build up on them dust will cause static and a lot of unforeseen problems for a computer and its parts also

scroll to disk drives if you can see your drive + to expand right click you should see options update driver disable uninstall scan for hardware changes

select properties you should see options in the general tab to troubleshoot policies volumes driver and details under the driver tab you will have the options to check the driver details update driver rollback driver or uninstall

hope this helps

I have a 32GB sandisk and it says its full its brand new

If the file size you are trying to transfer on to the flash card is greater than 4 GB, it will not transfer unless it can be divided up. This is because the flash card by default is formatted 32 bit. The maximum file size in theory should be something like 4.294 GB (going from memory).

Re-format the card in NTFS, if the particular card type will allow this. Not all the cards can be formatted in NTFS. This way you should be able to put files on the card that are greater than 4 GB in size.

When sandisk ultra 4 gb inserted into nikon it reads out of memory. the card brand new . just purchased

Maybe it is having trouble with the size of the memory. Memory cards have grown enormously in capacity in the last couple of years, and even relatively new cameras may not be able to cope with the memory size of the newest cards. It is often difficult to find out the maximum capacity a camera will use, as today's memory cards are much larger that those available when the manuals for the camera was written.

Now connect the sandisk memory stick to the PC and right Click on the photo. Youget option to copy or to send it to the memory stick . copy the photo and open the memory card to paste the photos to the required folder inside.

I have Sandisk Extreme III 4GB memory card why after i shooting photo the file is cannot read?

Make sure your camera is compatible with a 4GB flash card. Some only take 1 or 2 GB cards. If that isn't the issue, format your card inside the camera with the camera's format utility.

I put a SanDisk ExtremeIII 4GB card in my FinePix S7000. The screen says "card not initialized". I went to format in menu, and said OK. Still reads the same. What else can I do?

This camera will not recognize any card over 2 gig. Go to Fuji USA website and download the firmware upgrade for this camera. You will also need the program that came with the camera and the cable. You are going to "flash" the firmware in the camera just as you would a computer BIOS. then it will take up to 4 gig cards. Intructions are on the Fuji website. Please rate this if it was helpful.

Fuji s602z CF II card not initializing

I've bought a SanDisk ExtremeIII 4GB CFI card. Ofcourse, at the beginig nothing worked. Camera format command worked neither (initializing problem,...). I then formated my card through a car reader on fat16 and now everything works. Just make this command: format <volume>: /FS:FAT. After checking and formathing the card, you will be asked to go on by 64K size of cluster. say Yes.

I have a S5600 Fuji camera...when i take a photo, it is coming up with 'write error' and does not save the photo. Please help!! Thanks

I have a brand new Finepix s1000fd and was having the same problem. Very frustrating. I tried reformatting the discs in camera (setup -> tools 1-> format) to no avail. (Try this first, I've seen others have success).

I contacted Fuji service, and they said only Sandisk and Fujifilm SD cards are guaranteed to work. I bought a Sandisk Ultra II 2 GB card ($20 at office depot) and it now seems to work.

Hope this helps.
