Question about Dolphin Maytronics Advantage

UNIT HAS POWER, RED LIGHT IN SWITCH IS ON. WHEN I TURN ON IT MOVES FOR 1 SECOND THAN STOPS. DOES NOT MOVE AGAIN!!! I HAVE UNPLUGGED THE BLUE POWR CORD THAT ATTACHES TO THE MOTOR AND WAITED 10 MINUTES THEN REATTACHED IN AN EFFORT TO REBOOT THE SYSTEM...NO GOOD HELP!!

    I am not posting the entire chat log...I'd recommend you start with this:

    For starters, try the tip I posted here on Fixya, found at:http://www.fixya.com/support/r3651526-do... If that is not enough, try our sites FAQ section on Dolphins at www.arrowpools.net. Select the FAQ button then from the drop-down select Dolphin.

    If none of this helps your problem could be in the power supply, cable or motor unit.

    The motor unit is the most likely problem; the motor(s) inside it is probably failing. When the drive motor and/or impeller motor move you can assume the power supply and cable/electric connections are ok.

    Whether the unit is in or out of warranty you can either send it to a service center (which we are one) or try to repair it yourself however it is not recommended you open the cord end that connects to the motor unit as you are breaking the seal for the submersible electronics. You should also be aware that there are no parts available for inside the motor unit. If anything inside is damaged a whole new assembly is required. The motor unit for that cleaner is about $400 and when installed by a non-service center does not come with a warranty so you are better off sending it in for a complete diagnosis and estimate.

Sounds like main board to it is faulty. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. Same problem for me: I start chargering (red light) and when I unplugged It don't power on anymore.

The solution for me was resetting the unit. Follow next steps:

-Start charging the ML10 (a red light will appear)
-Press PowerButton and Volume(-) (a blue/right light will appear for less than a second).
- Voila! It comes to life!

Hi, disconnect all speakers from unit and try again - if red light still shows then your amp has died.
If the light goes green, then start testing for shorted speaker/wiring. This includes speaker wiring to vehicle shorts - there should be an o/c reading on your meter

heck power on both sides of brake light switch with pedal depressed.if power on 1 side only replace brake light switch.if no power to brake light switch check turn signal switch.

Lacie 2 big does,nt boot


Hmmm, reseting worked on mine. Identical symptoms except light stayed blue, not red. Unable to power down.
Before trying to get the drive working I got the data off using the procedure in the second post of this thread:

You need a linux system running. Maybe a live cd will do. I installed on an old IDE drive I had.

I then rest the decive using this procedure from Lacie and my drive is working again. Worthless though, because I can't trust it.

The procedure below will reset the 2Big Network to factory settings:
IMPORTANT NOTE: Following the procedure below can ERASE ALL DATA on the drive. Prior to following these directions, verify important data is stored securely on a different storage device.
Switch the drive OFF. Once it has shut down, ensure the power switch remains in the OFF position.
If the drive is in the SAFE mode, move the RAID switch to the BIG mode.
PRESS AND HOLD the button on the front. MOVE the power switch to the ON position. The light on the front of the drive will start blinking.
Once the light stops blinking, RELEASE the front button.
When released, it will begin BLINKING AGAIN. When it stops, PRESS AND HOLD the front button. The light will begin to blink again.
When the light stops blinking, RELEASE the button. The drive is now resetting itself. Switch the RAID selector back to SAFE if desired.
To restore data if it was lost during the process, recreate the shares and users on the unit prior to the reset. Any firmware updates applied will need to be applied again.

Red Light on front of Filter Queen Defender


When the red light is blinking, press and hold both up and down arrows until the red light blinks RAPIDLY, release both for a second or two, and press and hold both again until it stops blinking. It cured my problem.
