Question about Computers & Internet

Open Question

Hello, I've installed Windows 7 on my Philips MT5000 machine (bought from PC World), and now it doesn't have any network adapters appearing in the device manager, so I'm unable to connect to the internet or local network at all. Do you know where I can get the drivers for this machine from please? Thanks, Mike

To get the correct drivers we need to know what the make and model of your NIC (Network interface Card) is. You might have to power down the system and remove the card to find out.
Please re post with this information.

Thanks - that's exactly what I did last night, and managed to get it working.

Hello,

Are you sure that you have installed the correct driver? Try going to the website of your computer's manufacturer and get the driver from there.

Windows doesn't detect a properly installed network adapter

It means either the Network adapter driver is not installed or the Network adapter is faulty or there isn't a Network adapter installed on your computer.

Stuck At Detecting Adapter

Disconnect it, remove any software that was installed and restart the computer. Do not connect the device until you finish installing the device's software or the software installation prompts you to connect the device.
If that doesn't work, here's Microsoft's solution:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isnt-working-properly
If that doesn't work, go to Netgear's website for support and/or post the problems in the forums.
I hope this helps.

I put a new hard drive in my machine, and cannot access internet because it says this machine doesn't have any installed network adapters. How do I install?

Hello, presumably you've reinstalled Windows after fitting your new drive. Well, you have to find all the drivers for your machine including the chipset drivers (importantly you must install these 1st)) then your system will 'see' the adapter. If you don't have your driver cd's, then you must go to the web site of Acer (obviously from a machine that can access the internet!) and download all the relevant drivers to a memory stick or burn 'em to a cd, then install them onto your own system. Use the following steps to let Windows do the installation for you.

Step 1: Use an Ethernet cable and plug your computer directly to your Internet gateway. Make sure Internet is accessible.

Step 2: Place your new adapter in the proper slot or port.

Step 3: With your computer running, a bubble message will appear stating that this device was not installed successfully. Left click on the message.
But if the message no longer appears, skip to Device Manager Installation.
Step 4: On driver installation failure, you can change the setting to use Windows Update by clicking Change setting...
Step 5: Chose to allow Windows to update your driver when it is not found on you computer.
Step 6: Once the driver installs successfully, close the window.

Step 7: Click/Right Click on the Network Icon located on the system tray to View the Available Wireless Networks. Find your personal Network and double click to connect. It should request for a wireless key, which by now should have been set up.

Hello
You might want to try the latest drivers from the main dlink homepage. I took me the liberty to find them for you.
ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Wireless/dwa556/Drivers/dwa556_drivers_140.zip
You press that link and download it. It's in a zip compressed format. So unless windows can unpack it for you after opening it you will need a decompressing tool like WinZip or WinRar
Once you've downloaded it you can follow this quick guide.
ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Wireless/dwa556/QIG/dwa556_QIG_140.zip
Good Luck! If you still need a hand just post here again.

Machine will not work on windows 7 64 bit computer will not load singer discs bought new computer old system was X P

First, there's a Windows 7 update available atwww.Futura-support.com. Click on the lefthand side, then on CE100/150/250/350,etc, etc. Follow the directions CAREFULLY. First, be sure the uninstall ALLFutura software you've attempted to install and reboot your PC.

If for some reason this doesn't solve you're problem, I've posted a set ofinstructions athttp://www.fixya.com/support/r8955271-use_machine_windows_7_or_vista that willallow you to run the software under XP on your Windows 7 machine. This is a bitmore complicated a solution, but if you follow the instructions carefully, youshould be fine. Try the Futura update first, though.

I hope this solves you're problem. Happy embroidery!

Just bought this machine and installed the software. When I try to use I get a message: Can not run CF_Splash.dll

It sounds like you are trying to use the software on Windows 7 or Vista. There's a patch at www.Futura-support.com you'll need. On the lefthand side of the screen, click on downloads, then choose CE100/150/250/350, etc, etc. Follow the directions CAREFULLY. Be sure to install ALL Futura software you've already installed and reboot your PC BEFORE starting the new instructions.

If for some reason this still doesn't solve your problem, I've posted a solution that's a bit more involved on the CE100 Problems & Solutions home page for running your machine on Windows Vista/7. Basically, it allows you to run any XP program on Windows Vista or 7 using your old XP software. The Futura patch works for most people, though, so you will hopefully not have to go that route.

Happy embroidery!

I have recently bought a new computer and i installed the software, but the machine will not recognise the computer, can it be installed on computer with the new windows 7 or do i need an update??

Yes, it can be installed on Windows 7. Check the Futura support sight at www.Futura-support.com and look on the right hand side under downloads. There's a download listed for CE150/250/350, etc, that applies to XP 32 & 64 bit, Vista and Windows 7 32 & 64 bit. Follow the directions CAREFULLY! If this doesn't work for you, I've posted a set of instructions under CE100 solutions for running the CE100 software on Windows Vista/7 by installing a Virtual Machine software on Windows 7 that works regardless of the situation.

The update should work for you perfectly, however. Just make sure you uninstall the Futura software and reboot your machine BEFORE you do anything else and follow the instructions from the website carefully! Good luck!
