Question about Refrigerators
Hi, to begin the defrosting process, remove all non-perishable foods from the refrigerator. These items should be moved to a cooler that contains some ice in it to keep the items from getting warm. Next, turn the refrigerator's temperature down to 0 or Off depending on the model. If possible, remove any shelving from the refrigerator, clean it, and set it aside. Note that it is not necessary to unplug the refrigerator. Unplugging the refrigerator will turn-off any lights inside and it is advantageous to have lighting on when performing the defrosting process. Depending on the model that you own, either open one or two refrigerator doors and leave them open. This allows the flow of warm air to enter into the appliance and helps the defrosting process. While the doors are open, take some old cloth or paper towels and set them aside. Now you will need to wait approximately 2-4 hours for the ice to melt inside the refrigerator.
