The 17 and 27 cartridges are compatible with your Lexmark X1150 printer. Try to manually wipe the cartridge nozzles with a soft moistened cloth. This will help clean the nozzles from dirts and clogs. Unplug and replug the printer into the power outlet in the wall to reset it. When the printer turns on, reinsert one cartridge first. Close the cover. If no error, open the cover and reinsert the other cartridge. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the error to appear. You can also try to insert a different known working cartridge to determine if the other is faulty.

All the colours are working well, but the black ink is very very pale. I have done a deep clean in the print head - nothing - can you help ? I have a Lexmark Interpret S 405. thankyou, Vicki...

Try to check the ink level for the black cartridge. Press Setup > Maintenance > Ink Levels. If black ink is substantial for printing, try to reseat the cartridge. It could be that it's not seated properly in the carrier.
Also, make sure your printer is updated. You can download and install the update by visiting the Lexmark website at http://bit.ly/s405fw.

My Lexmark x1150 printer prints blank pages.

Usually, when the printer prints, but the page comes out blank, the print head on your cartridges is clogged. Since you pointed out that you computer was repaired, I guess you weren't printing during that period, so it is quite normal that the cartridges won't print. Here is a link to Lexmark's site.
http://support.lexmark.com/index?page=content&id=HO1562&actp=search&viewlocale=en_US&userlocale=EN_CA&segment=SUPPORT&productCode=LEXMARK_X1150&searchid=1270554483928.
Read carefully and follow the instructions. If necessary, do several nozzles cleaning, but do bear in mind that it uses a lot of your ink.

I just changed my cartridges for my lexmark x1150 and my blues are now showing pink.

I have to ask this question of you, just to make sure this is not an issue. Are you using a factory new ink or toner cartridge?
Please consider the following:
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridges that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks or toner causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead or photo conductors.
If you are using factory new ink or toner cartridges, then please call the manufacturer’s Technical Support for assistance with the warranty on the cartridges

Blank - There's a new ink cartridge in the printer but its

Double check that you have removed the head sealing tape. Also if the ink is very old, it is possible that the print head has dried up. You could try holding the printhead of the ink over steam for a minute or 2 (use tongs, so you dont get scorched). Hope this helps

I have a Lexmark X1150 printer that is printing purple only.

Try the "better" or "best" print options - They give more ink - might do the trick - (beware it also prints a lot more slowly....)

I have not had that type of problem as such as both my ink slots work, but I did have purple/bluish print instead of black once - It worked for me -
Hope that helps -

I have also found that despite cartridges being new somethimes they are not as full as they should....

Lexmark C1150 printer doesn't print

First I try to uninstall the printer, it didn't work, so I reinstall the the printer anyway, it worked for one print only.
As second attempt I disconnected the printer completely, turned the PC off, and after few minutes on again. Uninstalled printer.
Reconnected the cables again, install the printer - it works well!

The "Print Head" needs cleaning or replacement. It's the part that delivers the ink from the cartridge tank to the paper itself.Mostly caused by air entering the lines and making any residual ink cure.
Most newer printers only ever use 95% of the available ink before reporting tank is empty, and will not allow any printing to resume, preventing air being introduced to empty lines in the head.

Without Removing Anything

There's commercial products available, I guess a bit like using a head cleaning cassette in your VCR - I Have not tried any of these yet.

Use an empty ink cartridge Refilled with hot water and run the print head cleaning function.
( Dont worry , The paper will absorb the minute amount of water being dispersed.)

If that fails you should remove the print head cartridge most are pretty easy ,
LexMark X1150 X1185 and other similar models with the sensor strip running through the cartridge instructions are located at the following FixYA topic
http://www.fixya.com/support/t181337-piece_fallen_out_printer

Immerse it in warm-to hot water for a while or try using rubbing alcohol or similar Non-solvent based liquid.
Inspect the small rectangle shaped metal print head & surrounding copper track for dried ink , remove any with very gentle wiping taking care not to damage anything.

If it's beyond cleaning it will have to be replaced .Try ebay or the local print shop.

Colour Ink

1. On your PC, go to Start, Programs (Windows XP: All Programs), Lexmark series.
2. Select the Solution Center.
3. When the Solution Center appears, click on the Maintenance button.
4. Select the option to Install a new print cartridge. The carrier should slide over at this point and allow you to insert and/or remove cartridges.
5. Make sure the correct cartridges are installed inside the printer first, then inform the software which cartridges have been installed. Note: This applies also to installation of a single cartridge.
6. Print the Print Alignment page to ensure the print quality is satisfactory.
7. Close the Solution Center.

Black ink

Did you remove the tape from the cartridge when you installed it?
Has it ever printed black from this cartridge before?
You may need to wipe the cartridge with a moist paper towel at the place where the ink comes out. If there is dried up ink the nozzles could be clogged. Try running the Lexmark Solutions Center from the Windows Start menu (Start -> Programs -> Lexmark 1100 Series) and make sure the black ink level is good. You can also select "Clean Nozzles" in there and that may help.
