Question about Hotpoint Ultima WF840 Front Load Washer / Dryer

1 Answer

Hi I have a Hotpoint WM D940G washing machine and after selecting the wash cycle needed nothing is happening. Then after a short time it is saying on the display No water check the supply if you then leave it to run the diplay will change to dashes and displays the F01 error code. I have checked the water supply and the wires and connections inside all of which seems fine. I have also unplugged the machine and let it stand all of which have not helped. Would you be able to say if it is likely to be the control board at the top or the main power board at the bottom of the machine as I am unsure which part to buy. Thanks Gary

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
For most Indesit (Hotpoint and Ariston) models 'F01' often refers to the 'motor triac- check connections' but for a number of faults apparently poor PCB connections are often the cause so try this/these first. If you are not electrically confident and competent yourself, which you appear to be, you need to employ the skills of a partner, friend or service engineer ;-0)
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

How do I get into check the pump for blockages on my hotpoint wmud942 washing machine, the key symbol is on all the time with door locked, when a programme is running the pump starts but then when it

I would suggest you fill the washer with water externally up to below the door level and run it in one of the short wash cycles. I would assume it will progress further into wash. This would suggest the inlet water circuit has a fault. I am hoping the laundry water tap was turned on when you were running the washer.

Best to replace the inlet valve and see. Worth spending the 20 quid.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

You say 'new'- if it is still under guarantee do nothing other than contact the vendor as soon as possible! The reason for saying this is that for most models of Indesit (Hotpoint and Ariston) washers (you do not say which particular Hotpoint model yours is) 'F01' decodes as 'motor triac short. check motor and module connections'. This obviously is a job for the service engineer!!!

Hotpoint Electronic 800 WM 12 Aquarius won't rinse

If it won't rinse because it won't fill, it's most probably because the cold water inlet valve is faulty. Many machines will only rinse with cold water....No cold water.....No rinse!! Not a big job.....Nomess

Hi, Does the drum turn during the wash cycle? When it comes to the spin cycle does it go through to the end without the drum turning? It sounds like it could be the motor needs new carbon brushes. Regards, Tom.
