Question about Kenwood Sirius KDC-MP819 CD Player

1 Answer

I have remote RC 505 -- I'm new user - unit went into protect mode and it doesn't respond to remote. With unit face closed I don't know where to find model designation to see correct model. It has CD and Sirius capabilities.

I'm feeling that this is a case of operator (me) error. I'm hoping there's a simple way out of it.

If the unit is in protect mode then there may be the possibility that the speaker wires may have a short circuit in them or that the amplifier section may be damaged....you can remove the radio from it's sleeve and check the wiring behind the unit...this also would have to be done to see the model number and serial number...it should be on either the top or bottom of the unit...the speaker wires for this unit are the white, gray, green, and violet...each with another of the same color but has a black stripe in it...the black stripe is the negative side of the speaker wire....you can disconnect these wires, then turn on the unit to see if it comes out of protect mode...if it does, then there is either a bad wire somewhere in the car or a bad speaker...if the unit stays in the protect mode, then you will have to take the unit in for repair, as this indicates a circuit failure

I previously owned a Harmon/Kardon and used a sensor that was placed on the front face of the receiver as a signal to use the remote control in the downstairs living area. I don't know where to put...

It's impossible to tell from here if your sensor is even compatible with the new Denon but if you look at the manual you will find mention of RC-616 and RC-617 on page 19; and a REMOTE CONTROL IN on the back of the unit.

Hi, My philips 42'' plasma won't turn ON. I went to turn it on and the ''on'' button flashes red 7 times 4 seconds apart

I just had the same problem. I downloaded a service manual and give this a try http://www.servicemanuals.net . Turn on your TV and with the remote do the following Key in the code “123654” via the standard RC transmitter. This get you into a customer service mode and you can check your error codes.
After I got out this mode my TV worked. I think the TV was stuck in protection mode for some reason and by entering the service menu's it reset it.
I then entered the SAM Mode
How to Activate SAM
Via a standard RC transmitter: key in the code “062596”
directly followed by the “INFO” button. After activating SAM
with this method a service warning will appear on the screen,
you can continue by pressing the red button on the RC.
It will give you more info.
The TV worked fine after I exited these menu's.
I also did a software update as per the user manual and the TV seems to be working fine again.

Hope this helps
