That is the usual problems.
1. check battery
2. format the memory card, but backup first the data unto it.
3. format using the camera itself. this keep the system of the camera restore again.
4. observe if you on the unit you will heard a sound that noise something of drastically pulling the plastic gear. if you had hear this means that your unit has been on without a notice and sometghing had blocked it. it affects the tiny motor. this need an alignment at first.
5. Try to open with yourself but if not, seek someone to do it for you. a small tip philips screw driver can help you. align the cover of the lens you can pull out the center where the lens. open the back cover and slowly get the screw. do not place the lens rub on you desk because' it could damage the lens. then you will see a gear that be rotated by your finger, try to spin slowly the gear and it should be affect the layer of the lens over to move up and down. should be freely to move up and down. try to clean. then return to its place and assemble again your unit.

Lens error,,restart camera.,,the lens wont go back in ,,and the camera will not work,,,its like the lens is stuck,,,can any one help please!!!

Did you try replacing the batteries? If that's not the problem, then it might just be stuck. Look to see if the lens is a little crooked. If it is, try to gently straighten it. If it still won't retract, try to gently push it in as you turn the power on.

Lens error, restart camera

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...

Here's some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for less than 50% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try.

PowerShot SD630 lens stuck out, says lens error, restart camera

This is probably THE single most common failure among digital cameras. There's a halfway chance of fixing it yourself, described here: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

Canon powersho SD750, restart camera

Hi

Your lens is defective needs to be cleaned, repaired or replaced if you are seeing an error message that reads "E:18" or "Lens error, restart camera" or something similar. Turning the camera off and back on again will not fix the problem unfortunately.

There are online places that will do it for a decent price and there are others that overcharge by way too much.

I know this because I own one that charges a reasonable price to do the repair! (Google 'darntoothysam')

Just let us know if we can help! Good luck from

Stuck lens

The lens needs to be repaired or replaced. Could be one of several problems, sand, impact damage, broken gears. A professional camera repair shop should be able to do this for a reasonable price.

Lens popped out and says i need to restart it?!

cameras & hard floors are never a good combo. Im no help, except to say that if it were mine, I'd email the camera manufacture that question, and I'm sure they'll provide some useful info.
