If your desktop computer went bang from the back of the computer and the burnt smell comes from the fan grill of the power supply then the switch mode power supply definitely failed. The bang and burning smell was probably one or more of the capacitors that has exploded inside the power supply.
You can replace the switch mode power supply, make sure you purchase one that has the same total wattage or higher wattage.
There is a chance that when the power supply failed it may have caused a voltage spike that could have damaged some other components. You won't know until you replace the faulty power supply.

Will not start

It seems that something was burned out trying to make the starter turn. The problem could be the starter and/or the solenoid.

Go to youtube and enter, "how to check a starter" you may have to remove it to check it. I could tell you how. But it is better if you see how it's done for yourself. Also check the fuses.

I have a front load washer by Kleenmaid KFL800. I heard a bang and then smelt burning so I think it has blown up but I can't get my washing out cause the door will not open. Can anybody please hel

As a general rule if you unplug from the mains power the solenoid that keeps the door locked will de energise and the door will be able to be opened but careful there could be plenty of water waiting to help wash your feet!

My power switch has burnt out.

It is more than likely NOT the switch that has been destroyed. I am quite sure the switch could handle 1A without burning out.  What has more likely happened is you have damaged  some internal components. You will not be able to tell which ones by their appearance alone.  Is there a fuse on the board? check to see if that has blown.

Hi,

Appreciate the direct "Ask Me".

Your son's description of "...bang and smelt hot..." could indicate a number of possibilities:
  • power supply section;
  • vertical section;
  • horizontal section .
Since it has still sound, then the power supply is a least likely possibility. The "...bang and smelt hot..." is also significant. It tells us that we can visually check which component burst and burned by opening the rear of the unit for a look and see. Further diagnosis would of course would require a fair familiarity of electronic components/circuitry and safety procedures, use of a DVM and a soldering iron. It would be to your added advantage access to a service manual or at the very least a schematic diagram with voltage readings. Should you be uncomfortable performing a DIY (do-it-yourself), perhaps your best bet would then be to seek the services of a qualified professional.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Left side don't play/ right side is perfect

You sound like you have a wire connection problem but to find out try using a spare pair of speakers or try headphones. Try to rule out any wierd system problem, but I don't think that is your problem. Since this problem went away and then came back reduces the likely hood that it is a power issue so I would go with wiring issues or connection problems. While you are playing music. Move the cable, bend it, and reinsert it a few times. Give the cable a work out. If it comes back while this is happening, you have an open connection. You will need to replace the speaker wiring.
