Make sure you select the jumper on the hard disk into a slave setting and the hard disk is formatted into windows format.check the jumper settings first and post back for further suggestion.

hello what operating system you are using? If it windows then you can try to detect the hardware by manually detect the hardware using the add hardware option.to do this click the start button then select the control panel then click the add hardware.then follow the instruction from the wizard.

If your hard disk is not new,try using another computer then detached the hard disk installed.connect the hard disk you want to reformat/use.booth the system and see if the mother board can detect your hard disk...format the hard disk then it is now ready to use...If the motherboard did not detect the disk, the disk is defective and cannot be use..

I have a hp proliant ml350 g6 but i can not hear any sound there is no where, where i can connect external speakers to what should i do

Most servers don't come with a sound card. There is no use for them in a work environment. You would have use an add-on card.

I have a HP Proliant ML350 G6 running MS Small Bus. Server 2008. It will freeze up 3-5 times a week which holds up work loads. What might be the cause of it freezing up so often? Thanks,

HEAT, is a big factor. That is a mighty Xeon Server Quad Core CPU and when it gets to work it gives off heat.

You need to make sure that the chassis is well ventilated, install some fans to keep it cool. Clean the heatsink and surrounds of dust. Use a vacuum cleaner.
Also scan the system for Malware and Virues, these pieces of code simply get the computer to do a whole lot of nothing usefull to you. Find them and delete them. Usually a good cleaning will get it operating efficiently and effectively, giving you a responsive and productive computer system.

Take care!

HP Proliant 150 G6 has a hot-swappable harddisk cage in the front. Open the front cover and you will be able to slot in the hot-swappable hard drive.

I can´t use a serial ata disk in a proliant 350

I know ATA disks are cheaper , but they don't last as long or are less reliable.

I do not recommend mixing SCSI and ATA .

Use one or the other , not both.

Do not try , unless your server is non critical.
If it is non critical , why bother with server , a PC will do as well.

Thanks
