SOURCE: how to operate a coleman two burner stove using

If you are talking about the old type that runs on Coleman fuel, start by putting some oil in the hole beside the pump knob to make sure that the gasket is lubricated. Fill with fuel and pump it up, keeping your thumb over the hole in the end of the pump knob. When you have pumped up enough pressure, turn on and light the main burner, then secondary burner if necessary.

SOURCE: I need to replace the

Oven door will not close completely, therefore oven light is always on and the outside manual switch doesn't turn light off or on. The gasket around the window is brittle and coming away from its anchors in a number of places. I would think it needs to be replaced. Where is this part available? either on line or in Toronto, ON. SOURCE: Coleman Peak 1 Model 400

My Peak 1 is 30 years old, and the only time it ever happened was the first time I used it, and I overfilled the tank. It needs some air space to comporess ans the fuuel is incompressible. The ley to this is to keep the whole stove level when you fill it. If you hold it so that the fuel filler is level, it will over fill the stove -- that is why the fuel filler is on an angle. Granted it is hard to fill that way, but Coleman makes (or used to make) a special aluminium funnel that fits into the filler pipe that makes it easier. Actually this is true for any white gas Coleman appliance -- note that abolustely all of them have the filler on an angle.

What type fuel and oil does this take

My searches of the internet indicate that this appliance is a multi-fuel appliance.
It is supplied with a gas bottle - for use with butane fuel
(see http://www.dx.com/p/campsor-9-split-type-camping-oil-gas-fuel-stove-silver-red-126914#.U0we9nlOVjo )
Read the reviews on that webpage for reviwers experiences with different types of fuel. Diesel doesn't work, it seems, but kerosenr and unleaded gasoline (petrol) work ok. You may need different connector for gaseous fuel and liquid fuels.
Coleman Naptha fuel apparently works well.
I hope this information is some use.

I have use Coleman fuel in my stove..is that ok? Also can't get it started

The Optimus Nova is a multi-fuel stove. Coleman fuel will work in the Nova. Coleman fuel, generically called "white gas", is a chemically pure form of gasoline, same as what you put in your car but with less impurities.

The nozzles all liquid fuel stoves can clog from time to time. Follow the instructions in the manual for cleaning. If you don't have a manual you can find it at:

Hope this helps.

krimkramm, any luck finding a solution? www.spiritburner.com seems to be a great source of information if you are still trying to fix your Coleman 400A. If you would like to sell it, I am looking for one for my local Boy Scout troop. Send me an email at braddotroberson@verizondotnet after replacing the dots with a you-know-what.

I have heard two things that could improve your stove. I had the same "bursting into flame" issue last weekend while camping. First, move the black handle back and forth a few times. That is supposed to clean the jet. Second, take the generator off and hit it with a blowtorch. That should clean out the deposites on the inside. Or you can purchase new generators (just make sure you get the correct one).
