All you need for this is a cotton cloth and white vinegar, a small amount. And you have to rub with cotton cloth for the limescale. Vinegar will act and the limescale will disappear from here.

If it doesn't help you can mix the vinegar with baking soda and it will be a good start point.

When you have finished to polish and to clean the outside, you can clean your iron from inside. For this you have to put a small amount of vinegar and you have to mix it with water.

You have to switch it on to wait. And press the steam. All the limescale will come out of there.

You see? And your iron is shiny and clean, from inside and from outside as well. .

Use CLR or any other lime scale remover you can find. Pour out any water in the bottom chamber and put some CLR into it. leave it for 10 minutes to an hour. Run it to have some CLR so though any passages, then pour out any remaining CLR and replace with water again to wash out the CLR. When you are satisfied that the CLR is all rinsed and replaced with clean water, then it is safe to iron again. CLR can alway be put on a cloth and wipe the iron surface or any deposits.

Steam generator iron is blocked with lime scale any suggestions ?

Fill it with a 50/50 solution of water and white vinegar. Heat it up and run the steam through. After it cools a little bit, clean any clogged ports with a paper clip and repeat the process. Once it is cleared out, run 2 or 3 tanks of plain water through it to eliminate the vinegar smell. The vinegar is harmless to the iron but it melts the deposits. This method can also be used on coffee makers. It's totally non-toxic.

My Rowenta Expert steam generation iron (seperate tank for the water type) is starting to spit ever so often brown water out. I only use filtered water. How can I clean the actual Iron, the water tank is...

Hi, Brown water and whitescale are often the result of the water you use in the iron... If you have scale, white vinegar will clean that... For brown water, empty the iron, rinse out the insides with bottled water, and then use the bottled water instead...

Water shoots out when trying to steam.

You are getting a lime (scale) build-up in the iron. Best to try a clean, either with a self-clean function, or buying a lime remover solution for kettles and irons.

How to use the calc-clean button

Calc-Clean function
The Calc-Clean function removes scale and impurities.

To do so, set the steam control to position '0', set the temperature dial to 'MAX', and fill water tank up to the 'MAX' level. Then heat up the iron until the pilot light on the handgrip goes out.

Remove the mains plug from the wall socket and hold the iron horizontally over the sink. Then press and hold down the 'CALC CLEAN' button.

Move the iron forwards and backwards while boiling water/steam squirt from the holes in the soleplate to wash away impurities/scales.

When the water tank is empty, heat up the iron to dry it.

Finally move the iron to and fro on a piece of cloth to dry the soleplate. Repeat the process if necessary
