I really dont think the isue is the thermostat. It was working but we wanting to lower the minimum temperature it would cool to. In doing so some how we apparently changed one of the other setting in the installer setup menus. We attempted factory defaults to no avail.
    Its a honeywell TH5220D.

My other issue is I have no idea if we have a heat pump with cooler or a conventional system.

When the thermostat is broken, its mechanical contacts will be open, compressor will not run to cool down the room. You have to replace the thermostat.

Hi johnson2386,

A faulty/broken thermostat is one of the reasons why ACs are blowing hot air. Main function of thermostat of an air conditioner is to maintain the temperature within a particular range by directly or indirectly controlling the flow of heat energy into or out of the AC. In your case it is the thermostat that's causing the problem. The only thing that you can do to resolve the concern is to replace AC's thermostat with a new one. If you can provide me the brand and the model I can look for an online store where you can purchase the said part.

Hope it helps.

Why does the split unit blow hot air in air conditioner mode, when switched on with the remote control.

because you have the temperature set at 28 degrees celcuis . Change the temperature to 18 degrees and it will cool 28 is hotter
It is a reverse cycle air conditioner it will warm the room if you set temperature to 28 degrees . Set it lower and it will blow out cold air.
Have exact same air conditioner as I recognise the remote control.
point it at the air conditioner when altering the temperature setting.
Check under the slide compartment also on the remote for more advanced settings.

Electric heater problems.

Plug in a ceramic 120 volt or oil type space heater to keep trailer warm. Most travel trailers are propane only, they do not have electric heat strips. I would bet that is why it only blows cold air.

60degrees F is equal to 15.5 Degrees C . The temp of the air at the vent in the dash will be some where between 12 Degrees and 15 degrees C in a properly operating ac system and the thermostat in the cabin will control the air temp to around 18degrees C minimum. IT is important to understand that that what makes the air seem cold is the amount of water vapour in the air that is being taken out so allowing you to perspire more freely and not feel all hot and bothered. It helps if you set the dash control (Vent) to recirculate the cabin air and not allow outside air in

Hi John,
Your right with your diagnostics, you have a blend door problem. If your switching to cool air and it is still hot then you also have a heat exchange unit fault, this is the component that changes the water flow from hot to cool by shutting off. If it is not operating correctly this will give you constant hot air no matter where you temperature switch is positioned.
As for the warm air while the engine is cold, sounds like the blend door is still open to atmosphere tempreture and if it is hot outside will pull that hot air into the inside of the vehicle.
Have the heat exchange valve checked, and the only way the check blend door operation is to remove the wiring from the blend doors and have the circuit tested. If the circuit is ok then the blend doors will need to be replaced.
Hope this helps

If those connectors are electrical connections, they may be the reason your car won't start. Plus, you need to change your oil and filter. Driving the car at 270 degrees probably cooked your oil into a sludge.

The unit after running for ten minutes blows hot air inside the house

Service your unit completely and then check the following. 1. Thermostat setting must be minimum +3 degree from your temp. 2. Check room temp sensor 3. Check your out door unit fan motor. (If the outdoor fan runs with less rpm the compressor will get cut off by overload protector)

Heater system not putting out hot air

with the engine idling you water temp might not get hot enough to open your thermostat that lets hot water go through your heater core. I would first have the easiest thing changed. the thermostat could be you main problem.I hope this helps you.
