Question about Edu-Science (10166) Telescope

1 Answer

I cant see anything. I don't see a hole for a battery am I missing something? I have a telescope with three cylinders attached and all three have eyepieces that I could look through. One of the cylinders has a rotating knob that makes the eyepiece go in and out, the cylinder sais "coated objects" dia =76mm and f=800mm, and right where I put my eye it sais f=4. I looked through all the holes while moving the movable eyepiece and still could see nothing.

Take the scope oput during the day tiome. DO NOT opoint it at the sun. Point it at a distant object like a telephone polem or a building.

Look through the eyepiece with the largest NUMBER written on it-- and or the largest glass surface.

Turn the knob until the object comes into focus.

I cant attach lens to my sons vivitar telescope

Most lenses don't screw in, they drop in, and are clamped by a thumbscrew at the side.

There may be a size reduction adapter you have to insert first

How do you see the stars with it i don't see anything but my own reflection

You are NOT in focus-- practice focusing during the day time on a distant object using ONLY the eyepiece with the largest number written on it--

PUT the eyepiece with the largest number into the hole in the focuser.

I feel like I'm missing something. I can not attach the handlebars to the bike. I have one long screw, a bolt and some small black cylinder cut on an angle. The instructions are not helpful because...

the cylinder cut on an angle is what the long bolt should bolt to, put the cylinder below the handle bars, and drop the long nut down through the handle bars and into the cylinder, ( the hole in it should be threaded,) only start the bolt so it hangs onto the cylinder, then feed that into the top of the neck hole, where the handle bars slide into,, once the desired height is ok,, tighten that bolt, the cylinder will come up at an angle and tighten the neck and handle bars !! Good Luck

Ahoo.comI've got a Star Tracker Telescope from Toys R Us. Although I have the instruction manula I cannot get the telescope to attach to the tri-pod, wondering if I am missing a peice....or is it one...

It probably just screws onto the tripod-- this is a very simple telescope. Read myu tips on my profile page-- take it back to Toys R Us if it will not attach-- and never buy that brand again. We receive the most complaints with that telescope.

I have a Model 155w Altazimuth Refracting Telescope. It will not mount on the tripod. I believe I am missing a piece, but I don't knoe which one.

There should be a screw hole in the bottom of the tube and or two screw holes one on each side of the tube.

In the first example all you need is a photo tripod and screw the tube on it-- in the second you are missing the "fork arms that attach to the telescope -- like this picture:

We were given an EDU Science telescope and tripod (no case). We don't know if it is working or if it has all the parts. The telescope looks like the link below, but the smaller tube attachment (see the...

The bit you are missing is the finder scope, which is a small low-power scope that is used to line up the main scope on an object that you want to view. Without this it can be quite hard to get the scope pointed at anything, as the field of view is quite limited, and more so at higher powers.

It can be quite expensive to buy useful eyepieces for a scope, but they are readily available if the eyepiece mount tube is 1.25 inch inside diameter. The eyepieces that originally came with this scope probably were not very good, and in fact this scope is not up to much. It is rather small for a reflector at three inches diameter. You certainly won't be able to use it at the advertised 600 power, or even at 200. It has neither the resolution nor the light gathering ability with that small an aperture.

I would recommend that you explore the web page at THIS LINK for a lot of good advice about first telescopes, before you spend any money.
