Question about HP Office Equipment & Supplies

I have a hp 2840 laser jet and it only prints half a page, on the right side. Only able to read half a document. Replaced drum and it didn't help. All colours toners have plenty of ink, can you please help

    I have a HP 2840 laserjet and it only prints half documents on the right hand side. I have recalibratyed and read HP trouble shooting info and there is no solution tips for this problem. I have replaced drum and toners have plenty of ink

Solution 1. Hard Reset the Printer. While the printer is ON. Disconnect the power cable and the USB cable at the back of your printer. Restart the computer. Try to print again.
Solution 2. The media/paper might be uneven. Try to use a different paper. Try to use a specified paper for laserjets. Paper can have factory defect, which does not allow laser printing on some surfaces.
Solution 3. Determine if this happens in an all back text and all colored text or in pictures only. If this happens in black or colored only, ink may be defective though it has plenty of ink.
Solution 4. Lastly, it might be a carousel dislocation problem. Usually left side does not print. In this case, the printer needs to be serviced as it requires special printer tools to adjust the carousel. Before servicing, make sure that you have done solution 1 to 3 to be certain that it is a carousel problem.

Hi redhotchilli,

This is often caused by the carousel gears. There are some cases where 3rd party toner carts have caused the carousel alignment issues. Sometimes bushings and gears are aging and have begun to wear to the point that skipping of the gears becomes more and more common. Based on the degree of difficulty and cost of parts, it probably isn't indicated to proceed.

Other than tec guy are not advisable to do this exercise :Corosol align disturbed,open the printer up to corosol mechanism check rotary swing shaft left and right gears, there are markings which was exactly matching with rotary right & left disc markings. If its disturbed print quality issue will developed. If you have service manual read carefully before opening the printer.. Best of luck.

I have a hp 2820 and it only prints on the right hand side


If you make a copy and it only prints one side, the problem is the CIS. The CIS is the strip that lights up when the paper goes through the document feeder. If it is only lighting on on one side, this is your problem. It could also be a problem with the laser unit.
If you print an internal document, such as a report or help page and it is only printing on one side, then the problem is most likely your drum unit or toner. Good luck

Printer is printing black lines across all print jobs


Every print job, copy, and fax have the solid black line across the pages. I have changed the drum and the cartridge and even tried cleaning mode. Please help!!! I have a HP Laser Jet 2840 All in One

Not printing on left side of page


The problem is that the revolving drum doesn't contact the OPC drum proberly. You have to open the left side off the machine and replace the little white gear on the shaft that drive revolving drum. The gear has "jumped"one step and the revolving drum isn't parallell to the OPC drum. I fixed my 2840 last night it takes some time but now it works perfect.
