Take out memory card from camera, and connect memory card to computer using a card reader, then use this memory card recovery software
http://www.asoftech.com/apr/

If needed, you can format (quick format) the memory card and then use asoftech photo recovery to recover lost photos.

Hi there,
You take out your SD card and put it into a card reader. Then connect it with your macbook. And you can view the photos on it.
If this fails, you need to use a recovery program to recover the photos on it.I have succeed to recover photos from SD card with Tenorshare Data Recovery.Download it and scan your SD card to check out whether the photos can be retrieved.

First of all, you should stop saving any new files to your canon camera (or SD card) or taking new pictures with you camera.

Then find some photo recovery software from this site Best Computer Software, which is of high quality and easy-to-use.

Digital Photo Recovery for Mac OS X

Here are the steps:

Step 1: Download and install the Digital Photo Recovery Software.

Step 2: Connect your camera (or SD card, memory card etc) to your Mac.

Step 3: Scan the source drive where your lost pictures located.

Step 4: Recover the lost pictures and save them to another drive instead of the source drive.

In your case, the formatting process may help you fix the "memory card error" problem. Of course, for the safety of the inner stored data, you'd better firstly restore all your reserved data back with the camera memory card data recovery program like 4Card Recovery:
http://www.4cardrecovery.com/
I remember this tool has designed a special "photo" recovery option for people like you to process all photo recovery problems.

You may be able to get your pictures back. In many cases you can use special software to recover pictures. Insert the memory card in the computer, or connect the camera with the usb cable so the computer can see the memory cards contents. Download Recuva here: After the file is downloaded Run it to install the software using the default settings. When you click Finish at the end of the installation the program will launch and show a window describing the capabilities of Recuva. -Click Next -Pictures are the file type already selected, click Next -For file location click In A Specific Location at the bottom of the list, then click Browse to select your memory card. -Click Next -Click the check box in the middle of the screen to Enable Deep Scan -Click start After searching for any files that can be recovered you will see a list of the files and asked which you would like to recover.

Communication error message on my canon s100

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Lost software for my canon powershot sd630 camera

This type of question comes up several times a day here at Fixya. Unfortunately, Canon does not offer replacement software disks. You can search eBay for a replacement disk, but would instead recommend that you please see this article, as it describes the use of an inexpensive USB card reader as a much easier, faster, and less error prone way to download your photos and videos. In fact there are several important reasons discussed in the article for using a card reader vice downloading from the camera. USB Card readers are also very inexpensive these day, with cost virtually not an issue.

Took a bunch of photos and only two came out -

If you tried to remove the card while it is reading or writing by mistake, it is normal that your card is damaged. First format the card and try to use it again. If the problem persist then change your card with new one.

Canon PowerShot SD 630 Digital Elph "Memory Card Error"

Hi,
I'm sorry to tell that PowerShot SD 630 does not support SDHC cards over 2 gig.
If you want the camera to take a card over 2 gig then you are stuck standard SD cards.
The other camera does support the card because it's a higher model.

Regards.

Cant transfer pictures

TURN CAMERA ON FIRST, PLUG IN USB, GO TO MY COMPUTER, YOU WILL SEE A DRIVE THAT HAS YOUR CAMERA ON IT. YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO DOUBLE CLICK AND OPEN THAT DRIVE.

ANOTHER THING YOU CAN DO IS TAKE MEMORY CARD OUT OF CAMERA, PUT MEM CARD IN COMPUTER, GO TO MY COMPUTER, FIND DRIVE WITH MEMORY CARD. DOUBLE CLICK AND OPEN FILE.

YOU CAN CLICK AND DRAG PHOTOS FROM THAT DRIVE AND DROP THEM IN ANY FOLDER OF YOUR CHOICE.

YOU MUST HAVE THE LATEST USB DRIVERS FOR YOUR EXACT CAMERA FOR YOUR COMPUTER TO READ IT.

Problem with photos - Canon PowerShot SD630

It sounds to me you have a CCD issue, which is the part of the camera that captures and converts the image to be digitally saved to your memory card (very overly simplified for the sake of diagnostics).
If you can see your menus and everything else just fine on the camera, and the photos and live view are looking like that, then I would say you have a CCD issue. You might try to send the camera in to Canon for a repair, or if its under warrenty, even bettter!
