Check with this method. Manually turn on your tv.
Then push and hold the code saerch button until the light stays lighted release the button.
Push and release the device button you want to set TV.
Now you got to push and release the ON/OFF button until your device turn off when your device turn off stop and push and release the enter button for storage the code.
Warning: You may push and release the ON/ OFF button for almost 200 times.

more likely the remote sensor is misaligned in the tv, and it needs to be pulled out straightened and replaced back in , maybe even the receiver board will need to be replaced. they are small in size and if the tv is in warranty then it will be easy to get it replaced.
the picture does not interfere with rf or ir signals the image is passive. to check the remote you could simply tel direct that the remote stopped working (no matter what tel the phone person it doesnt work...
that will get you a new remote and then you will know if it is the tv or the remote.
