Kenmore actually doesn't make very many of their own products. Typically their vacuums are privately labeled by Panasonic. I don't want to get into trouble for saying something bad, so I'll just say I wouldn't consider Panasonic a best buy anymore.
Next time you're ready to purchase, you might take a look at Miele Canisters. They are a German family owned business, and they have hands down the best vacuums on the market and outstanding customer service. Or you may consider Riccar which is an American company that has an awesome reputation for quality and customer service. Just something to think about.

Something is jammed in it or the belt is bad.Turn it upside down. You will see 4-6 screws.Remove the screws and the plate they are holding. Now the brush is exposed. The belt hooks on to the brush and a small wheel on the other end.Remove the brush and belt.Make sure the area is free of debris. While you have it off, replace the belt.

SOURCE: When I plug the rice
The switch is broken. You can "temporarily fix" it by putting a folded carton or paper on top of the switch to prevent it from popping up. But, it will not automatically stop cooking, so you need to time your cooking and remove the paper/carton from the switch when the rice is cooked. Contact the manufacturer of your rice cooker for parts and servicing. But ask first for the price, sometimes buying a new rice cooker will be cheaper.
