Question about Panasonic TH-50PZ850U TV

1 Answer

I have a Panasonic TH50PZ850U when I pwr on the power led blinks 10 times stops for a sec. then cycles 10 times again. When I try to pwr off nothing happens indicator still blinking. This has been going on for a month. At first unpluging the set from the wall would get it to come on now nothing works. I have been reading the horror stories from other blogs. If it is a power supply problem will I be able to find a replacement. And will that supply need adjustedments to it's output?

The power supply for that model is real cheap, around $14. Here is a link to a vendor Panasonic ETX2MM704MGA NPX704MGA 1 Sub Power Supply

A red light blinking 10 times means that a video board has gone bad. Contact Panasonic to see if they will help you out.

SOURCE: Panasonic plasma 50PZ85 power led blink 10 times

Either a bad power supply or a bad processor board.
A Good Service Shop should know what the 10 blinks are indicating.
May be a repair cost between $200 and 400 dollars.
Be prepared -

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device, in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

Something worth trying that worked for me and costs nothing is; remove all leads except the power lead. Hold the on/off button on the TV in until the light stops flashing, release button and and press again. If it fires up your good to go if not your nearly finished disconnecting everything ready to send off for repair! Good luck, BTW the number of flashes indicate a fault code that you can look up online.

Panasonic PT-53TWD63, TV will not turn on, Red power light blinks

It is most deffinately a convergence chip issue. The die for no reason. They can be bought online for around $10 dollars and anyone with experience with soldering can replace them pretty easily. I have done it.

I just read this for the same problem: push sanitize, then heat and dry, sanitize, heat and dry, sanitize, heat and dry, cancel, then open and close the door. It worked. The dishwasher is running correctly even as I type this.
