First thing, maybee you have a smal hole in the burning pocket (if so change the pockets). if not, you migth loose pressure because the o rings of the pump are dryed out. you need to open the pump, lubricate it and replace it. to open the pump, there is a little metal handle to this pump, slowly open it by pulling one side out and the other side of it after. then you should have to unscrew the entire pump out of the gas canister, lubricate everything that is made out of rubber whit vaseline and rescrew it back in the same order you've found it. if this does'nt work, you need to clean the entire conduct system of your lantern, you can do that whit naphta, just soak it in for 2 or 3 hour (do that outside for safety, really) and let it dry, then try again, if its not working, you migth have to clean it manually

I have a coleman 5317 RC series lantern that wont go into the dim mode what can I do

Hello. I've just looked at several Coleman lamps, some have krypton bulbs (mainly battery powered), some spiral fluorescent bulbs (mainly mains powered/charged). If this one is yours then it appears yours has a spiral fluorescent bulb. Gas discharge bulbs commonly are fired up by an initial high voltage pulse then followed by a continuous ac medium voltage (say 80 volts or so) to give a FIXED LIGHT OUTPUT.
THIS DOES NOT ALLOW CONTROLLED DIMMING. Dimming can usually only be done on an INCANDESCENT TYPE bulb eg an older type tungsten filament bulb. These are however much less efficient.
So in summary, if you do have a fluorescent bulb, I don't know why your remote indicates you can dim it. You could try switching the bulb for an incandescent type, but this should only be attempted by qualified persons. Check over the user manual again. Good Luck.

Replacing Batteries in a Coleman Latern 5359 SERIES

I believe that the battery replacement is at the bottom. There is a black knob, turn it to the left to open. Uses 8 D Alkaline batteries only.

Thank you for contacting Fixya. Does this help? Let us know.

My air compressor doesn't seem to want to shut off. how do i know i have it set correct

turn pressure regulator all the way to the left, therefore requiring the least amount of air pressure(psi) in the tank so it will shut off at its minimum. If it still continues to run, its probably a bad regulator pressure switch and your going to need a new one. Good Luck

I have a full bottle of gas but there doesn't seem to be any pressure. All the burners light but i don't get temps over 180

hi barty1950...
Check your burners to see that they are not plugged up.
I suspect that the regulator is the problem...take a hammer and lightly tap on the top and the bottom of the regulator as the flame is may loosen uop the needle valve and allow it to get more gas, if this did not work then replace your regulator as it is faulty.

Coleman Pressure Washer gets no pressure even when running.

It sounds like your pressure regulator or back flow preventer is stuck closed either by corrosion or trash . Try tapping it and see it will open. If this does not work you can try rebuilding or replacing it.

Are you pumping the tank up all the way? I have the same problem if I have too little pressure in the tank. The instructions say pump 35 times. Try pumping 50 or 60 times- that seems to help.

Also, you can't light this one like an old 425. My old stove you could turn the gas on and then take a match neat the burner. For this stove, hold the match near the burner with the gas off and quickly turn it on.

These are two things that seemed to help me with the same problem.
