Question about Sony Grand WEGA KDF-60WF655 60" Rear Projection HDTV

Hi,

I have had this tv for 4 years and yeaterday when i turned it on it was dark, and then it went blank and the power button will blink 6 times in a row (red) and then stop and then keep repeating. What does that mean?

    Have mine for 3 yrs, and have the same problem. Power/Stand by light flash 6 times then pause, and repeat.

You have to change the thermal fuse

My Sony Wega KDF-60XS966 is dark You can see the picture and the brightness is turned all the way up but it still looks dark Do I need a bulb?


Yes, its time to replace lamp in tv.
Lamp replacement is easy and procedure would be written in user manual.

Sony KDF-42WE655. Screen goes dark.

Sony wega power problems


Replace lamp in TV as this is clear symptom of weak lamp and TV needsnew lamp, did you replaced lamp in 4 years? Lamp replacement procedureis written in user manual of TV, pretty easy job, make sure to buy Sonyoriginal lamp and avoid aftermarket/ cheaper/ alternative lamps for TVsafety.

Picture is dark


Adjust video settings:
  1. Press Wega Gate
  2. Select Settings
  3. Highlight Video
  4. Press + to select
  5. Adjust/increase the brightness.
  6. Press Wega gate to exit.
If picture is still dark, you need to replace the lamp again. Sony recommends that you replace the lamp:
  1. After approximately 8,000 hours of use.
  2. When the screen becomes dark or the color becomes unusual.
  3. When the lamp indicator on the front of the TV flashes.

Problem fixed by reading other post with same problem. Unfortunately Sony is not going to fix this problem.
