Question about Acer Computers & Internet
When problems like these occur, it is likely there are some hard drive corruption issues. Since you have not given any error message to go on, I can only assume that this is the case for you.
In that situation I would recommend running SpinRite on the drive, available at http://www.grc.com for $89.
I know it seems a little steep, but the program is the best I know of for finding and repairing hard drive issues, as well as recovering the data from the bad spots.
Hope this helps!
If this issue does not appear to be with the hard drive, please include more information to go on and we can suggest from there.

The Aspire One is a netbook produced by
Acer; it does not come equipped with a CD ROM drive, so a traditional
hard drive reformat and Windows reinstallation is not possible without a
peripheral storage device. An external USB CD or flash drive will suffice, however.Difficulty:Moderate

Consider what data you still need from your Acer Aspire One's hard drive. Save the files to an external USB device.
Restart the Acer Aspire One's operating system. Wait for the Acer logo to appear on the LCD screen.
Press the "Alt" and "F10" keys at the same time to bring up the recovery menu. Press "Enter."
Click "Next." Follow the prompts that appear on the screen to restore the operating system back to factory settings.
Connect the external USB device to your Acer Aspire One and transfer the data you saved earlier back to the netbook.
