What parts did you get,was it the two thermostats,if so the other connectors should be in the bag too.

Can I stack a new whirlpool washer model # WFW72HEDW with an old whirlpool washer model # WED9270XW1? If yes, what stacking kit do I need to use? Can I stack a new whirlpool washer model # WFW72HED

As we could see new one are not compatible with older one as size and dimension of new washer are changed but in case you could try .It is simple just try compatibility of your older washer stack kit with new one in most new model

How to connect dryer wires to thermal cutoff

The first thing I would like you to do is get your model number from the dryer, it is located near the inside the of the dryer door. you need to make sure you have the right heater and thermal cutoff kit. The manufacture has more than one type of heater and thermal cutoff kit out, (( some will not work with others ))... Call another parts store or sears and make sure you have the correct parts !!

Most of the thermo cutoff kits have direction and if they are not making scence then the chance of you having the rong one is good !!!!!!!

If you remove the thermal cutoff from your origanal heater and then look at how many conetion pins are left. The new heater and old heater should be the same.

The most common heater is the 2 conection. But they made one with three. and if you have the one with three, it has to be replaced with the same one !!!

Without knowing the model of your machine, I cant tell you how to wire your machine.

I recomend you use the direction that came with the Cutoff kit.

It is the motor winding shorted out which caused the smell. If you still have your old dryer the safty thermal located on the exhaust housing is blown. White plastic with 2 wires going to it. Very inexpensive repair. Hope this helps.

The new high limit thermostat has different prongs than old one. I have one small wire clip and 1 larger clip coming from the dryer, but this therm. has both the same size posts? Any advice?

The correct part you should have gotton , with the small extra terminal is pt # 3977767 , however , there is a pt which comes with the thermal cut-off and high limit , with the jumper wire to exclude this small terminal . If you received only the 2 t-stats , then you got the wrong part .

Heating element for kenmore dryer won't turn on

Hi, I have an 11yr old 80 series elec. dryer and just fixed the same problem. On the heater element is a thermostat with 2 wires and above that about 14" is another piece with 2 wires. I had to replace the top one. They sell them together in a kit called Thermal cut off kit. Sears sell it for 25.49 look up part number 279816 or 3399848 again these numbers are for my dryer but you can look them up on the sears parts web site. If you have a sears service center near by they let me buy the parts to see which one it was and then return the ones I didn't need. I hope this helps.Good luck
