Question about Gateway FPD1975W 19" LCD Monitor
If the display is disconnected from the computer and switched on you would expect a message on the screen saying 'No Signal.' If not, please check the brightness settings - it may sound silly but often it is as simple as someone turning down the birghtness to zero. Does the onscreen menu work?
If there is no on screen menu or message, it may be that there is an internal fault which would require expert attention.

The LCD probably died, the same thing happened to an LCD TV of mine. You will either have to get it repaired professionally or replace it :\
