SOURCE: My air conditioner will not turn on.

AC has a relay, it sounds like it failed on ya. If the unit was on all the time, was it that hot where you were or do you mean switched from AC to fan on all day? From what you said, it sounds like the unit burned its relay out for overheating, meaning thermostat may have originally failed keeping unit on until relay popped. Careful of fire hazard.

SOURCE: What would cause the air conditioner (model 75251)

On my air conditioner it was the run capacitor that was the problem. It was leaking.

Kenmore 580.15151500 Compressor doesn't turn off

Most likely is a issue with the temperature sensor that when it reaches the level selected is not turning the compressor off.

Your going ot have to shut it down and let it deice. remove the filter and replace it or wash it out . this might take a few hours so leave the indoor fan on it will speed thing up a bit. also set the temp to mid range and close all unused rooms off it has to cycle a bit but really my money is a dirty filter and ice.

Fan Only means just that (no Air Conditioning)

Fan speeds Quite same as low, Norm same as medium, Super same as High

Stuck on 75 degrees. Won't respond to buttons or remote

The thermostat sounds like it's bad. If it was good, you could change the temperature settings. The thermostat has to send a signal to the control board, and if it's bad, that just won't happen, and no cooling can occur.
If this unit is a room air conditioner, here is how to check the thermostate on it:
Good luck, and hope this helps.

My air conditioner will kick on but will stay on and not

The thermostat is not functional, therefore its not cutting off the compressor once the room air gets cooled to the temp setting of the thermostat, also the refrigerant gas may have leaked out some but not the entire refrigerant gas(freon, CF4, etc.), keeping the compressor running contentiously to come down to the set temp..............sodeep

Danby ALSO does not cool 3 days old

Take it back where you bought it. A 12,000 BTU unit should be more than enough for a 192 square foot room, so there is some problem with the unit.
