Problem with print spooler: when i print the document stay in the print queue forever and nothing happens..

Right click on my computer>click on manage>when the screen opens there will be a list on the left side of the page.Click the plus sign by Services and Applications then click on Services.Thelist is is alphabetical order.Scroll down untill you see print spooler and right click on it.This will bring up a screen has a menu click on properties and this will bring up ascreen that has tabs at the top and a place to to change what the print spooler will do.What you want in this spot is automatic.Now click on the dependancees.This tab tells you what programs the print spooler needs to have running so that it will work right.Just make sure that all the programs are on automatic.Thank you for choosing FixYa.com and I hope this helps. You can all so uninstall and reinstall the printer but disconnect the printer while you do this.

If this is a network printer make sure that your printer is properly connected to the network and is showing up in your list of printers. Make sure your printer is not in some sort of standby mode that prevent it from receiving your print request.

If it is a local printer check the connection between the printer and the pc and make sure it is plugged in all the way.

If problem is not fixed check the manufacturers website and download and install the latest drivers.

You may have to check the status of the Printer

1. in the printer spooler window click on printer then click on use printer offline IF there is a check beside it.

2. Try also checking the printer power plug, power, and connection to the pc. Sometimes taking off plug then plugging it back on works.

My Lexmark Z705 Will not Print HELP


Use the Vista driver in Windows 7.
Also, make sure that the Print Spooler service in your computer is running. Try following the steps below:
  1. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET STOP SPOOLER (this will stop the print spooler service)
  2. Browse to your windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS\ folder. You should see files there ending in .SPL and .SHD created around the time you tried to print - delete these files.
  3. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET START SPOOLER (this will restart the print spooler service)

Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

CAN NOT DELETE A DOCUMENT THAT IS IN THE QUEUE, THEREFORE, NOTHING ELSE WILL PRINT. THE DOCUMENT SAYS IT IS DELETING, BUT DOES NOTHING. i POWERED IT OFF, THEN UNPLUGGED IT FOR A WHILE AND IT IS STILL...


There are 2 simple methods to resolve any print job stuck in queue issue. However, both the methods will not fix printing issue if the HP Printer is in Error mode. Make sure your printer is able to print self test page to prove its functionality,

First method.

This Utility program resolve all the printing issue for HP Printers Only ( Network and USB connection )

This Utility will Resolve :

1. Check Connectivity between the Pc/laptop and HP Printer
2. Check if there any Documents stuck in Queue
3. Check if all the software/Drivers are correctly Installed
4. Check if the HP Printer icon is the default icon to print
5. Will Resolve Printer Spooler Issue and few more issue

Download the file on Desktop and Run the program ( Ex. File name = HPPDU.EXE )

Click Here to download the Utility and save on Desktop location
Run the HPPDU file and follow the instruction on screen to fix.

If this does not fix, try the 2nd Method given below ( this is manual process to clear the print job stuck in queue )

This works for all brands of printers ( HP, Canon, Epson, Brother etc )

Click Start > Programs > Accessories > then select Command prompt, then the black window will open and there type NET STOP SPOOLER and hit enter that will confirm service is stopped , after that on the black window type NET START SPOOLER and hit enter. Repeat this step 3-4 times and end the command with NET START SPOOLER and hit enter. Open the Printers folder and Refresh the Window ( Press F5 on the keyboard )

The service will be started and all print queue should already be remove.

When I send a document to print, the document seems to get 'stuck' and won't print. The status bar stays at about 50%. Sometimes it prints, sometimes it won't.


It could be the print spooler of your computer that has gotten disabled somehow. Try to refresh the print spooler on your computer by following the steps in this article in the Lexmark website on How to Restart or Reset the Print Spooler in Windows. Once the spooler has started, make sure there are no print jobs stuck in the print queue before sending out a new print job.

Rebooting the computer may help get rid of the print jobs stuck in the queue. If not, follow these instructions carefully:
For Windows
Stop the Print Spooler
  1. Go to Control Panel
  2. Go to Administrative Tools
  3. Go to Services
  4. Look for Print Spooler in the items. Double-click on Print Spooler -> click on Stop -> click Ok. Set the Services window aside.
Clear the Spool folder
  1. Go to Start
  2. Type Spool in the Search/Run bar, hit Enter.
  3. Open PRINTERS folder
  4. Delete all the files in the PRINTERS folder. Close the Window
Re-enable the Print Spooler
  1. Go back to the Services window
  2. Double-click on Print Spooler, and click on the Start -> Click on Ok. Close the Services window.

Go to Printers and Faxes and refresh the page. It should clear the print queue now.
For Macintosh
Simply launch Terminal and type cancel -a - That will clear the print queue.

Printer is not working. There is no error light on and the ready symbol light is on. Nothing willnot print


Have you checked if there are any Documents Stuck in Queue to print ? ( under Control panel - Printer and faxes folder )

Click on Start button
Click on Run
Type SERVICES.MSC and click ok
look for Print Spooler in the list
highlight Print Spooler,
Click on STOP button then click on START
close the window and check if the print queue is gone. ( Refresh the Printers and Faxes folder )

If this does not fix the issue :

Alternate method,

Click STart
Click RUN
Type Cmd ( or COMMAND ) and hit enter
In the black window type
NET STOP SPOOLER ( hit enter button )
Type
NET START SPOOLER ( hit enter button )

Repeat the Stop and START Command 4-5 times
End the Command with NET START SPOOLER

Open Printers and faxes folder - Refresh the Window - the printer will show Status ready with 0 document

My printer won't print...there's a document in queue but it won't print and it won't delete.i've unplugged the printer and re-plugged it in I've restarted my computer...nothing is happening.


Try these steps to remove the print jobs stuck in the queue. Follow the instructions carefully:
First, you have to stop the Print Spooler. To do this: 1. Click on the Windows logo start button. 2. Go to Control Panel 3. Open Administrative Tools 4. Open Services 5. It will pop-up a Services window. Scroll through the list and look for Print Spooler. 6. Double-click on Print Spooler, and click on the Stop button. Click on Ok button. Set the window aside.
Second, you need to clear the print jobs in the Spool folder. To do this: 1. Click on the Windows logo start button. 2. Type Spool in the Search bar. 3. Open Printers folder 4. Delete all the files in the Printers folder. Close the window.
Third, you have to re-enable the Print Spooler. To do this: 1. Go back to Services window. 2. Double-click on Print Spooler, and click on the Start button. Click on Ok button. Close the Services window. Click on the Windows logo start button. Go to Control Panel and open Printers folder. Refresh the page. That should clear the print queue now.

Restart the Print Spooler device
  1. Open Administrative Tools.
  2. On the Windows taskbar, click Start , and then click Control Panel .
  3. Click Performance and Maintenance . NOTE: This step is not necessary in XP Classic View.
  4. Click Administrative Tools .
  5. Double-click Services .
  6. Click Print Spooler .
  7. Click Stop to stop the Print Spooler.
  8. Click Start to restart the Print Spooler.
  9. Click OK .
  10. Restart the computer.
  11. Try the print job again.

My print spooler queu says that my document is printing but the document never prints


Go to Settings or Control Panel and select Printers - double click the icon. Here you will find the Print Queue. Delete all jobs in the Print Queue (the first one is probably the problem child and is stopping any others from progressing).

This will free up the Print Queue which should now be ready to accept new Print jobs.

Note: The Spooler is an area where Print Jobs are stored ready for Printing and as long as the previous print has finished then the next job in the Spooler will progress to be printed onto paper.
