If you are going to disconnect the batteries, you are going to lose your memory anyway. It would be best to connect the yellow wire to a source that is constant when the batteries are connected. Otherwise you will have to reset everything every time the boat is turned off.

Cant get my deh-p6000ub to hold memory

Where do you have the yellow wire going? The yellow wire needs to go to a constant 12v source, even when the key is off. The yellow wire controls the memory of the deck.

I shut off my car and turn it back on i need to setup the radio and my settings again it doesnt save ! im missing the orange wire for illumination but my deck still illuminates its the memory thats doesnt...

Make sure the yellow wire is going to a source that still has 12v when the key is turned off. The yellow wire controls the memory and needs to be connected to a constant power source.

Battery wire on Pioneer 2000 MP is yellow....what is the memory wire?

Not sure what you mean by memory wire but usually it is: Yellow - 12V constant Red - 12V switched by ignition
The 12V constant on the yellow wire allows for settings to be stored when the ignition is off. The 12V switched by the ignition on the red wire is what powers the unit up for use.

Which wire serves as the memory for a switched installation of a Pioneer DEH in dash stereo?

The yellow wire should be connected to unswitched +12V (always powered on) to keep the memory settings.

Black should be ground, and red should be +12V switched power.

How to

Hi,

Please follow the following instructions 1)Use a wiring harness equipped with an adapter plug for faster connection and installation.Disconnect the car battery while installing electronic equipment.

2) Make a note of the wire colors and connect the power supply wires to the DEH-45DH as follows:

Orange wire to the constant 12Volt
Yellow wire to the switched 12Volt
Black: ground wire

3) Connect these wires to control display functions on the DEH-45DH:

Attach the gray wire to the wire marked control panel illumination.
The brown wire connects to the dimmer.

4) Make the front speakers connections following this color scheme:

Left front positive (+) tan wire
Left front negative(-) Gray

The light green wire connects to the positive (+) terminal of the right front speaker.
Connect the dark green wire to the negative (-) terminal of the right front speaker.

5) Make these rear speaker connections:

Brown wire to the left rear positive (+) terminal
Yellow wire to the left rear negative (-) terminal

The dark blue wire attaches to the right rear positive (+) terminal
The light blue wire connects to the right rear negative (-) terminal

Hope this helps
Thanks
Smith.

Can I install a pionerr DEH 1100mp cd player to my boat? If so can you walk me through the process?

Oh yes. Definately. You hook up red and yellow wires together on the positive side of battery. Black negative wire goes to negative on battery. That's all there is to it. Besides the speaker wire which you will have a diagram on the bottom of the cd player to tell you which wire is which

NO POWER TO MY DECK

Hello clarky909,

On your Alero, the 12V constant wire is ORANGE and should connect to the YELLOW wire coming from the DEH-2300 wiring harness. 12V switched on your Alero is YELLOW and should be connected to RED coming from the DEH-2300.

Hope this helps.

Preset memory not working on pioneer DEH 1700 radio

You must connect the constant hot wire (or there is a fuse blown somewhere).... it should either be orange or yellow at the rear of the pioneer radio ... it should be connected to a wire that recieves power even when the key is off ... that wire will depend on the car itself ... if you used a connector to plug into the factory wires (a good idea) that connecter should have a yellow wire that would supply a constant "hot" for your pioneer, if it doesn't there should be a fuse blown in the car fuse box.

Pioneer DEH 1950's favorites/booksmarks/number inputs reset

hi mate,
the cd player consists of 3 types of wires, 1 for negative, 1 for memory- the yellowcolor wire, 1 positive-the red color wire. you must connect the memory wire(yellow) directly to the car battery so that the battery constantly feeds electric current to the player to store your bookmarks or whatever you program it. the red wire must be connected to the ignition barrel( which means your key starter). the negative(black) must be connected to the negative terminal of battery.

Installing CDM-7836 into a Boat

Yes I can help, the blue/white wire isn't meant for that purpose. That wire is meant for an amplifier turn-on. the wire you want to use is the red that is the accessory lead. What I would recommend is finding a constant 12V to hook to the Yellow and hook the switch 12V to the red. This way your radio will retain memory. Or you can connect both the red and yellow to that switch and never turn the switch off. Simply use the on/off button on the radio. Good Luck I hope I could help.
