Freezer drain is clogged, I guess, water dripping on the floor, ice buildup on bottom of second door, it has an ice machine built in, what do I do? I'm a female.

Good Morning Andi.

the good news is that the fridge is not likely doing this because you're female, and your description of what has happened with power outages sounds like that's very likely the culprit - a fair amount of melted water dripping, then power comes on and freezes water in the drain.

I don't know your specific model, or if you know where the drain is. it's likely down in the bottom of the freezer compartment. If you remove the lower drawer, or unpack the lowest area, the floor will likely slope toward either an overt hole, or to a slit/hole in the back. If there is actual ice frozen on the lowest shelf/shell of the freezer, you'll want to get rid of it.

Easiest and safest route (as in least likelihood of damaging the freezer or hurting anyone)
  1. Turn the fridge off. It won't be off long enough to risk much thawing, but you don't want the cooling coils actively pulling heat from what you do in the next step.
  2. Hot, even scalding water. Especially if there is overt ice at the bottom, pour small dribbles in at the edge. Some will go across the ice and melt a bit of the bulk. Some will trickle down between the ice and the freezer floor. Do this a couple times, then see if you can pry up sections of the ice from the floor. Pull out as much as you can of the bulk ice. You'll likely want to get a couple of towels out since you'll likely get some water on the floor.
  3. Once you've cleared overt ice from the freezer floor, pour some more hot/scalding water onto the plug, or into wherever the floor slopes to. Be patient and don't pour too big a volume. Ideally, after a few modest pours, you'll get water coming out from under the fridge. If the lower panel will pop loose, get in and use a towel to pick up as much of the water as you can. pour a bit more hot water through and verify it pours through to the floor (or possibly a catch pan).
  4. If you get this far, dry the freezer floor as best you can with the towels, replace the drawer or any unpacked foods, close the freezer, and turn the fridge back on. It will probably be back to normal.

    Good Luck!

How do I stop freezer from leaking water

A drain plug is a small hole inside your fridge to allow for moisture to escape. The reason its leaking water is because its not cooling the water to ice or its defrosting the ice to water. make sure the door closes shut and turn it up a bit as it has been very hot recently

Water leakage

Probably the drain line from the freezer is clogged with debris or it is frozen. Empty the freezer and shut it off and defrost the line and check the drain line for proper flow.

drain is plugged up were it is normally drain to defrost the freezer completely find a place to store food in freezer for a few ours leave door of freezer open pull out all shelfs and lay a few tools down at bottom of freezer were you seen the ice build up after you have done that pull ref away from wall take back of bottom look fro drain pan with a turkey baster send water thru back of freezer inside if water still flows back out into freezer drain tube is still clogged use warm water when doing this if you see drain pan full of water use a shop vac that can deal with water suck out water send water again water should go strait to drain pan if still flows out may have to remove drain tube

Why is water collecting in the bottom of freezer

Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today.Chances are you have a clogged or frozen drain which is behind back inside panel of freezer or the door may not be sealing but more than likely the drain. You can use boiling water to thaw the drain once you remove the panel.
Thank You and please rate my answer if it was helpful..

Hi I have a traulsen RHT 132 EUT FHS inside the unit water drips from the top and soakes everything and fills the bottom so I have to vacuume it out every few days

sounds like a clogged drain pan drain. Could be the drain line heater is not working so when it goes into defrost, the water can not drain as the drain line is frozen up and acts as a restriction/ clog. could also be some good old fashion junk/ dust.
Check it out.

Leaking water on floor

The defrost drain is most likely frozen or clogged. I put together some instructions on clearing this for refrigerator/freezers and it applies the same to all freezers with drains. Take a look and let me know if you have questions.

Our upright freezer drips water on the floor. We believe the seal is bad since ice also forms inside at the top of the door. Is the seal replaceable or should we buy a new unit?

Self-defrosting refrigerators/freezers dispose of the water generated during the defrost cycle, usually via a tube or channel that directs the water to a pan at the bottom of the refrigerator. From the pan, the water normally evaporates.

If the tube or channel is clogged or obstructed, the water backs up and leaks into the inside of the refrigerator/freezer compartment. Then the water builds up at the bottom, inside of the refrigerator. When the water has built up for a time it may spill out of the front of the door opening. To fix this problem, clear the drain tube or channel and allow the defrost water to flow down to the drain pan.

Frozen water on the bottom of my Amana freezer

Your drain line is clogged. Take a small diameter pice of wire and snake out the drain line from inside the freezer.
You may have to access the back rear near the compressor and separate the drain line there and clean it further.

Freezer "leaking" cold water on floor

sounds like a drain clog in the freezer compartment above. remove the freezer rear panel and totally defrost the evaporator area, directly under the evap you see( under all taht ice) a small drain hole that has become frozen over, try defrosting with either a hair dryer( not a heat gun too much heat youl melt everything) or by pouring hot water donw the drain until you get a free flow of water down the tube. after its clear reassemble and you should be fine
