Can you give what specific model for the wifi router you have (netgear, linksys, dlink, or some other brand) ?

And where the laptop is located(for example, laptop is in different room from the router.)

If the router is in a different room, how many walls do you guess there is in between the laptop and the router.

My wifi connection has dropped off my tech wood tv. I've tried lots of menus but cannot connect again. How do I reconnect this?

Try checking the signal strength. If your tech wood tv does not display your SSID (network name), check the router. If you have another device which picks up the WiFi signal, this is indication your TV is the problem. If your router is located at a long distance, maybe you need to relocate your router in a centralized lactation within your home.

Dns server is not responding, no wireless conncection

what modem model is it?
is it yours? or you ISPs
the above URL is the web page inside your modem.
see photo below for such page. examples. from zoom/

if its not YOUR MODEM (you own it, like I DO)
then it's the ISP modem(your service providers)
and the password is their secret
so call them and tell them to fix your problem.ec0ecbec-df8a-4989-b624-2bff58e5aa71.jpg

YOU DO: YOUR modem, 101:
using any internet browser us this URL.
I use Firefox V20, portable, because it can talk
to any home camera, or any , modem and any router with no problems. V52 and newer are hopeless now
as it thinks you are hacking, so some such rot.
Windows 10 may get angry too.... watch out...

My laptop randomly stops picking up my wifi

Things That Affect Wireless Router Signals
1. Many wireless routers are using the same wireless channel. Many manufacturers choose channel 6 as the default. Change to another channel. 2. Analogue video senders used to send audio and video to other TVs in the home. 3. Microwave ovens emit interference in the 2.4GHz band. 4. Wireless speakers and console controllers can cause interference with the wireless router. 5. Bluetooth devices, newer Bluetooth devices can jump to different frequencies if there is a connection problem. 6. Power cables located near the wireless router can cause dropouts and speed reduction. 7. Fish tanks will cause massive Wi-Fi shadow on the other side of the tank from the wireless router. 8. Depending upon the location of large mirrors will reflect wireless signal away your computer. 9. Building materials will block wireless signals such as plasterboards with metal foil, reinforced concrete walls and floors. Also objects near the wireless router such as metal filing cabinets and other electrical appliances. 10. Blinking Christmas lights can reduce Wi-Fi performance by 25% when it is close to the wireless router.

I was getting a wireless connection and now I can't pick the connection up from my wireless router

Try going to a WiFi cafe (i.e. Dun-kin Doughnuts) and see if your laptop detects a network. If not then you have a problem with your WiFi card in the laptop or your software device drivers are an issue.

Have a look but the aerial connections may be disconnected on the WiFi board. If not the WiFi board may be low gain and unable to pick up a good signal.

How to go wireless on laptop

You need three things
1) An Internet service provider. Once you sign up and agree to pay the fee they will provide the internet service.
2) A wireless router. This is a unit that receives your internet service by through a connection to your telephone line. Then it transmits a radio signal (wireless signal) that your laptop can receive.
3) A Wifi card in your laptop or an external USB Wifi Dongle. This is a radio or wireless receiver that picks up the signal from your router.
The router is usually security protected with a keycode. All you need to do is set up your Wifi card or dongle with the same keycode and you will be able to receive the internet wirelessly.
To check to see whether your laptop has a Wifi card already installed, do the following:
Click Start>Programs>Accessories>Communications>Network Connections> and look for "Wireless Network Connection." If you have this, then your computer has a Wifi card installed and ready to go.

Wifi card not working???

Your wireless card is not picking up your wireless router, the fault could be that your wireless card did not get a IP address from the router and therefore won't allow the laptop to get into the Internet. Two things to try, if the wireless icon is on the task bar with a red X on the icon then right click on the icon and click on Repair (this will force the wireless router to issue the wireless card with a new IP address). If you don't have an Icon then go to Control Panel - Network Connections and right click on the wireless connection and then click Repair. If this dosen't work then power off your wireless router wait for 30 secs. then power up the wireless router and the reboot your laptop. Get back to me if you still have problems with all error messages.
