You didn't make it clear as to what's too large, the screen or the image from the pc but I guess it's the screen as the image is not filling it.
This is not uncommon, you need to check the display settings in the nvidia control panel to make sure it is set up to display the same resolution as your tv screen.
If you can't find the nvidia control panel, download the drivers for your graphics from nvidia and this will install it for you.

Be sure to download the latest Nvidia drivers available here:

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Once you have Nvidia's Control panel installed there are multiple setting in the program that will allow you to adjust the size of the screen that Windows will not allow you to do.

When using PS3 on RCA D52W19 TV, the screen does not fit ( it is zoomed and off-center) in 1080i resolution.

hello!
Have you tried to toggle "format" or "screen size"? On those sets non HD and HD settings could be adjusted separately. Try that, first. If no luck, try similar settings on PS3. I bet, you will be able to match screen format there, as well. To me it looks, like picture formats are mismatched. Also: try to use "component" cables, instead of DVI adapter cable, if nothing works.
good luck,
Alex.

When you connect the DVI, try hitting the input, source, or conection button on the remote on TV. Some vendors use different names for the button. Use the procedure below to set the resolution for the second screen to 640X480 first, then move the resolution up one notch at a time to see what your TV can handle.
Many televisions don't allow an input through the VGA connector that's a higher resolution than 640X480. That is probably the format that you see appearing on screen where everything looks huge. You may be able to increase from that slightly after getting 640X480 working.
When you've made all the cable connections right-click on the desktop, then choose PROPERTIES from the bottom of the list.
A small window will appear with a few tabs on the top choose the last one, SETTINGS.
Click on the screen shown on this tab with a numeral 2 shown. On the middle-left you'll see a slider showing large and smaller at each end, bring it down to 640X480, then hit apply
A pop-up will appear asking you to confirm that this size is working, click yes if when it does.
Try increasing the resolution by a notch to see if the next size up works with your TV. If you see the Invalid Format on your TV again, you've gone higher than this particular input on your TV will accept.
To get a higher resolution signal you made need to switch to a different cable type, try DVI or HDMI. Either of the two should work more automatically than the VGA cable you are now trying.
If your computer only has a DVI port and the TV has an HDMI port you can get a cable that has DVI at one end and HDMI at the other by clicking here:

Invalid Format when i connect PC to my TV

Normally you will see this when connecting to a television that only accepts 640X480 resolution. You may be able to increase from that slightly after getting 640X480 working.
When you've made all the cable connections right-click on the desktop, then choose PROPERTIES from the bottom of the list.
A small window will appear with a few tabs on the top choose the last one, SETTINGS.

Is there any way to adjust the screen image size? I recently connected a computer to the DVI input, and at 1280x720 there is quite a bit of overscan. Is it possible to reduce the image size?

Change the display settings on the computer desktop, try various sizes.

If using programs like word or firefox change display size with shift/mousewheel. Also change font sizes for best view. Don''t worry about resolution numbers, adjust for good picture.

How do i connect my compaq pc to tv

Without the model number comptuer, I cannot verify what outputs your comptuer has. Without this, I will provide the various ways a PC can be connected to a TV.

1. Use a VGA to DVI adapter (HD-15 pin to DVI). Use either a standard VGA montor extension cable (cheaper) or a DVI extension cable (more expensive) to make the connection

2. If you computer has a DVI output, use a DVI extension cable only

3. If your computer has HDMI output - use a HDMI to DVI adapter and either a HDMI or DVI extension cable.

In all 3 cases, you will probably need to go to the comptuer's Display Properties and adjust the screen size so it looks OK on your TV (go to the Control Panel - find Display) and adjust the screen resolution to match the format of your TV.

One note - when purchasing DVI cables, understand that there are 3 types - DVI-D (digital), DVI-A (analog) and DVI-I (digital and analog) and that the pin outs are different. Be sure to check your the owners manual of your TV to find which connection it needs.

Here is a good reference for DVI types

DVI port on Sony Trinitron KV-32HS500 not standard. What fits it?

I've just recently connected my old 32" Sony KV-32HS510 to my HP G60 Laptop via an HDMI (laptop) to DVI HDTV port(TV) with a cable.

I'm running Windows Vista on my laptop with the nVidia software. Once I've plugged in the TV to the HDMI port, the software initializes (recognizes the TV) and then I can select it as my second 'monitor' in the nVidia control panel.

I found I had to tinker with the resolution settings in the nVidia program to find an optimal resolution where the sides of the screen weren't 'cut off' by the TV.. I finally ended up with the resolution 1152x768 (I believe). It might be different for everybody, as I'm told Vista might do things differently than XP... But you should be able to tinker with the resolution settings and adjust the screen size...

(hope this helps with the second post - above)

PC via DVI to D52W20

I'm using a component dongle from an ATI x800. Never have had a problem. My resolution is 1664x936. I noticed that this RCA auto formats the screen size with the DVI-D or component, so you'll have to make the adjustments via your video card. Windows display properties might not let you select that resolution, so hopfully your video card software will allow you to pick a resolution. It would not let me use any kind of 720p resolution only 1080i settings would work.

Unable to have 1280x768 full screen with DVI cable

Use the menu button on the monitor itself to adjust for the screen size in DVI mode.

On your SVGA adapter, go to your display properties (right click on desktop) click ADVANCED and change the refresh rate to fix the first problem mentioned.

Yes, you have a size problem you have horizontal and vertical size. Either its' in the service mode or somewhere on the set, with this set it's probably in menu. Must be set too high. I will look for menu codes! Is this an Akai or Panasonic set?
