The freezer has an ice maker -- used to work fine. We've only had the fridge for a few weeks. Now, it makes a noise like it is trying to make ice but there is no ice being made at all.

You may want do call the manufacturer and ask them this question because they will know exactly how to fix it and if it is that new, your warranty should be able to cover it if it is broken.

Westinghouse ice maker quit working

Is it your ice maker, or possible the blades that crush the ice or dispense the cubes? What can happen in the latter case is that during the storm the ice melted and pooled in the cutter mechanism. Then, when power was restored, the blades were frozen solid. To fix, investigate taking out the cutter mechanism and letting it thaw and drain. Then reinstall and use frequently for the first few days to prevent refereezimg.

Hi. We moved to a house with an integrated Teka A-FC1359 Fridge/Freezer. It was working fine. We switched it off 3 months ago. Now we've swithched it back on but it's not working.

It can be issue with faulty compressor capacitor. From main power outlet the power goes to capacitor beside compressor and from there power goes to compressor motor, then after that all unit works.May be that capacitor got shorted or loose from its actual connection.Or other possibility is faulty power wire of refrigerator.Get the wire checked with continuity tester to confirm its not broken in between.

Dear Help 'Desk, I have a Samsung silver nano fridge/freezer. I've broken one of the removable door shelves in the freezer. Can you suggest a suitable (preferably clear) glue to repair the

Fevi-quick stick fast glue will be useful. It will take few minutes to hold the broken parts.Dont put overload of food stuff on the rejoined tray. But it will hold the basic load.

I have a Kenmore side by side model # 106.53609202 and its about 8 years old. About a month ago it stopped making ice. I've already replaced the water valve behind the fridge and waited 24 hours and...

OK, remove the cover on the face of the ice maker and let me know if the model look like this picture:
12_17_2011_1_36_01_am.jpgIf it looks like this model, I have the service manual for it with all the testing procedures. If it doesn't, see if you can get a model number off the unit. They make about 4 different model for this unit.

Intermittent flapping noise whirlpool fridge freezer

Hi: Go easy on my rating as this is just something to try. You say it dosn't have a dispenser. Does it have an Ice maker? If so is it hooked up? If not try raising the lever on the ice maker up to the off position. The water valve may ve trying to open and without water pressure it will make a noise. It would also be related to the switches on the door. I hope this helps, Jeff

Loud noise from the freezer side

The problem is a buildup of ice on the plastic housing (the curved plastic bit) in the back of the freezer under the fixed shelf where the icetub goes. The fan behind this plastic housing is hitting the ice when the defrost comes on.

Unplug the fridge, unpack the freezer, remove the four screws in the back, take off the sheetmetal backing and let the fridge thaw. You can remove the plastic piece after a while and get the ice off (be careful not to remove the styrofoam insulation by going too quickly).

Reassemble and you're back in business, for a few months. I'm never buying Samsung again myself.
