Hi there,
Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

Here's a link to this great service

Good luck!

SOURCE: standard deviation

Enter the first number, 1.
Hit the σ+ (Sigma+) key. ( n=1 will appear in the window)
Enter the second number, 1.
Hit the σ+ (Sigma+) key. (n=2 will appear in the window)
. . . . .
Enter the last number, 7.
Hit the σ+ (Sigma+) key. (n=7 will appear in the window)
Hit 2nd x2 (by hitting the 2nd key you are actually selecting the x-bar written above the key.) This gives you the mean.
Hit 2nd sqrt(x). This gives you the sample standard deviation which we will use in class.
Make sure you turn your calculator off and on for new data sets.

Texas Instruments TI-86 Statistics How-To Information The following instructions should allow you to calculate the mean and standard deviation using a TI-86 calculator.

1. Press STAT
2. Select EDIT
3. Enter data into a list: [2.32 ENTER 2.43 ENTER 2.39 ENTER, etc.] Continue until all data have been entered. (use arrows keys to go to the y value, if any)
4. EXIT until you reach the main ("blank") screen. (If you try to calculate while you're in the data menu, it thinks you're still trying to enter data!)
5. Press STAT
6. Select CALC
7. Select OneVa
8. Select LIST, NAMES, xStat(F2), Press ENTER
9. The calculator provides Max, Min, Mean, Standard Deviation, Sum, Sigma, etc. You will be primarily interested in the Mean and Standard Deviation (sx).

Hello,
You must first enter the data you are doing statistics on.

After you finish entering the data, do as the figure below describes.

Hope it helps.

### I need help with my calculator settings sharp el-535 every time when calculate statistics it give me error answers and.even when I set it to a stats mode it will show a frequency table

Hi there,
There is a really great website called www.mathsatsharp.co.za that is dedicated to answering questions and helping people who own the Sharp scientific calculator range.
For Stats - i assume you are using the 535 with the table. Simply type in each data value, press = after each. Press change.
Press alpha and the number of the function you would like (for example 4 gives the average). Be careful with your standard deviation for population (on 6) and sample (on 5). In school we use the population standard deviation formula and not the sample standard deviation.

### How can I find the mean absolute deviation?

Mean absolute deviation.
Let's break it down into its components.
Mean - Average
Absolute - absolute value - sign doesn't matter - if negative, make positive
Deviation - difference from the mean

Let's do an example. Population 3 7 4 2. Total 16. Mean (Average) 16/4 = 4.

Deviations
3 - 4 = -1 absolute value 1
7 - 4 = 3
4 - 4 = 0
2 - 4 = -2 absolute value 2

Sum of these deviations 1 + 3 + 0 + 2 = 6
Mean (average) of these deviations is 6 / 4 = 1.5.

Good luck,

Paul

### How do I calculate z score on TI-36X Pro?

To convert an x value to a z-score, the formula is:
(x value - mean)/standard deviation

Example: We have a number of height measurements that have a mean of 65.25 and a standard deviation of 2.84. One value is 68.5. To convert it to a z-score: (68.5-65.25)/2.84 = 1.144

Hope this helps!

### How to i do std deviation and sample mean

Example: Enter the following x variables, and determine the sample and population standard deviations.
x = {1,2,3}
• Press [DATA] and begin to enter the data as indicated into the L1, L2 or L3 lists. To input a data point, type the value and press [ENTER]. Press the down arrow key to move on to the next data point.
• Press [2nd], [STAT], and then choose 1-VAR.
• For the "DATA" option, choose the listname the data is stored in (L1, L2 or L3). For the "FRQ" option, choose "ONE" since this data does not include a frequency list.
• Arrow down to "CALC" and press [ENTER].

3:Sx (Sample Standard Deviation) = 1
4:sx (Population Standard Deviation) = 0.816497
• Press [2nd] [MODE] to exit STAT mode.
