Are you sure this is the problem? A fuser $250 and I have no warning messages on my machine. I just put $250 in to it for the transfer belt

The problem is with the fuser, the fuser is bad, you will need to replace the fuser on your printer, in other to fix the problem.

Sorry about that, when you have this kind of problem, since you have change the belt and toner cartridge and the problem still persist, next to look at is the fuser, but in which ever way, first try clean your printer very well, both the toner cartridge area and inner parts, ensure they are properly cleaned, now see the print out.

This is most likely to be a toner cartridge issue. Either a leaking cartridge or one with damage on the roller of the drum. This is especially likely if it occurred just after changing a toner.

If however the transfer belt of this printer is easily accessible from your printer (I am not massively familiar with this model) it may be worthwhile wiping this down gently with a clean piece of kitchen tissue. This will look like a foot wide sheet of plastic wrapped around two rollers.

Lastly it could be a small roller with residual toner toner powder on it that is repeating down the page. This could be hard to track down, but much like the transfer belt this will get flushed out with continued printing anyway.

Hi Everytning I print has a very narrow pink line straight down the centre of the page, also every so often the print has a black/yellow/blue/pink thick line running across the page. Thanks

The narrow pink line is coming from your magenta toner/drum cartridge. You may be able to open the from cover and look at the 4 toners. If you look at the magenta (like pink) cartridge, you might see the thin line on the drum surface.
The multicolored band that sometimes shows up on your prints is most likely the transfer belt unit. This is caused by an area of the belt that is not being cleaned very well. This probably tends to show up when you are running mutilple prints of a page.
So it looks like to may need to replace your magenta toner and look at getting a transfer belt unit.

When we print our labels using this printer, the colours on the left are all faded out & pale for about the first inch & half, all the way down the page - particularly on yellows and pinks. Back to...

1) First, clean the elctrical contact wires in the cartridge bays with alcohol on a Q-tip.
2) Make sure all cartridges are seating completely.
3) Open the front door. Check the wide, black transfer belt (ETB). See if there are uneven wear signs, lines on the belt-side where the colors are faded on the page. If it looks hazey, you can use 95%+ isopropyl and a lint-free cloth to clean the residue off.
4) Remove the ETB and reseat it (may not be easy on this model).
5) Make sure you've tried original hp cartridges -- not only compatibles or refills.
6) If all the above fails, you will need a new ETB. If so, look online by model number "CLJ 1600, ETB".

You may find a refurished on a lot cheaper than new. However, this is a user-consumable component and must be replaced when they wear out.

Where is the transfer belt assembly located and the the waste toner in a gestetner 4532?

Hi, as you're looking at the front of the 4532, the transfer belt assembly is on the right side. Open the duplex door that hangs off the right side, and then open the right side cover on the copier. You will see a wide brown belt that sits on the door -- that unit is the transfer belt assembly. You can remove it by turning the plastic lever on the front side and lifting the unit off of the door.

The waste toner tank is contained within the transfer assembly. If you remove the transfer belt from the rest of the unit (it's only held in by clips and springs) you can pour the waste toner out by turning the unit upside down so the toner spills out past the cleaning blade. (Make sure you have a trash bag or other container for the toner to fall into.)

My printer is leaving faint marks of other words down the side of the page...any way to fix that?

Yes, It sounds like a ghosting issue. Several components can cause a ghosting issue. The distance between the first occurance(the one on purpose) and the second occurance(ghost image) can determine the part of the machine causing the image problem
56.6mm - Fuser
54.5mm - Transfer Belt
75.4mm - Drum unit (1 of toner carts)

Noisy operation and black marks on left side of printed paper

vacuum out the waste toner passages that lead from the drum and transfer belt to the waste toner container. Toner is building up inside the transfer belt and/or drum and has no place to go except onto your paper.

Pink stream of dots running half way across page left to right

the pink spot you have seen is a residual magenta toner drops from the developing assy, either ther is too much toner accumulated in the drum unit, or within the viccinity.

removed the magenta u nit, and clean all toner, removed the drum if you can and vacuum the cleaning unit that scrape off toner from the drum, chances are this area is full of toner that has stucked, carefully install the drum unit and test

so as far as your transfer unit, very rare cases that this would contribute to that prob, but ensure that you put all connectors tightly and if there is any electrical connectivity that you recently seen, secure this parts correctly..

hope this helps and remember to mark this pls

Horizontal lines down left margin

Sounds like it's a transfer belt and not a drum you are refering too. Each toner cartridge mose likely has a drum built into it. If the lines are only in one color it may be that toner that is bad. But most likely it's the transfer belt, often called an ITU (Image Transfer Unit) or ETB (Electrostatic Transfer Belt). They sometimes get contaminated with dust, oils from fingers, etc... and can't be cleaned, would need to be replaced.
