Question about General Electric WJRR4170GWW Top Load Washer

1 Answer

My washer GE model # WJRR417OG1WW, has not been a good purchase from the beginning, but it is now filling up with water fine, drains fine, the switch on the control panel goes through the cycle fine, but it will not agitate or spin out at all. I have checked the lid magnet, replaced the belt, and the light on the motor flashed 2 x's. What is if any is your suggestions? Please help, thank you!

Check to see if the motor is spinning the belt. If the motor is not spinning, check to make sure there are not loose or broken wires. you can use a mutli-tester or ohmmeter/voltmeter to check any relays and fuses. If all fuses and relays are good, check to see if there is power coming from power supply to motor. If there is power, the motor is bad, if there is not power, the power supply may be bad.

SOURCE: doesnt agitate or spin.

Mine is 1 1/2 years old and this worked for me

unplug from power for at least 30 seconds

turn the dial to spin but don't pull out

plug back in to power and open and shut completely so switch is engaged solidly 11 times in 15 seconds.

pull out knob to turn on

This should clear a error code.

hope it helps!

SOURCE: BAD LID SWITCH

This MANUAL shows how. What you must do is remove the front panel. It is kinda tricky. Use a thin blade to release clips between the top and front panel then tip the front panel towards you and lift it out yer way. Then you can remove the screws holding down the top and get to the switch.

Water continuously drains and fills, and never gets particularly high

You will need to check you washer drain hose and make sure it is only inserted into your house drain pipe in the wall no deeper than 4-6 inches, alternately your house drain needs to be as high as the top of the washer lid. Be sure to secure your drain line from the washer to one of the water shut off fittings with a zip tie. You are most likely experiencing a siphon action because the washer hose is inserted too deep in the house drain. Pleazer Appliance...

Water runs but doesn't fill tub and wont spin if put on spin cycl

The water-level switch regulates your washer's fill volume. This switch is usually a diaphragm device with a small, clear tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. As the water level in the tub increases, the pressure on the air in the tube increases. When the pressure reaches a certain level, it activates the switch, shuts off the water, and signals the timer to begin the agitate cycle. If the switch is defective, it may prematurely signal the water to shut off. If so, you probably need to replace the water-level switch.

My GE Profile top load washer won't hold water

Your drain line is too low or has a blocked air gap. Take the drain line out of the drain. Hold it up high and turn the washer on to fill. If it fills and begins agitation, repair the drain line problem.

GE wcxr1070a washing machine. fills with water

Check the water level switch and the plastic tubing to the switch.
Sometimes soap scum stops up the plastic hose and the water level switch does not close to send power to the timer.
If the plastic hose is good and the water level fills and stops replace the water level switch.

GE Washer fills but will not run through cycle

Sounds like a bad motor. It's likely shutting off from it's internal thermal switch. Try unplugging the motor's molex connector and replugging it, it could also be a loose connection.
Good luck.
