Press the "ok" or "enter" key on the printers keyboard to reset the printer. Then it will try again and recognize that it has paper in it.

Is there a sensor that tells the print head to

no sensor but what you need to do is to go into the properties of the printer in the printer icon in the control panel. In there will be a way to put the printer thru a realignment and once that is done the print should come out properly.

1. is it possible to print a test page (Press and hold down the control panel button while turning on the unit and hold it until the drum led comes on. Release the button and press it again. if a test print prints, then you need to contact brother about the specifics of your problem, if it does not print, then you have a main board issue.

this is based on the error you are telling me.

thanks adi

My Epson DX4000 Printer keeps getting paper jams and wont print

still printing but the paper goes no further?. It may be the paper is locked by paper feeder mecahnics, Open case, check it, and may be there is something "material" broke.

Epson Stylus 580rx won't identify vellum paper

Ran into the same problem. The problem is that the printer's paper sensor sees through the vellum and therefore doesn't think any paper moved into the print position. To use vellum, fold up 1/4" edge on a standard peice of print paper and place the leading edge of the vellum under the flap. Place the paper and vellum into the printer and print. The printer will pull in the paper and the vellum together. Make the paper fold tight and straight to prevent jamming. You will need to feed one sheet at a time. Also the Epson inks take a long time to dry on vellum. I let mine dry overnight.

Laser printer does not print

Hi there it may just be that the paper tray springs are not pushing the paper higher enough not making contact with the paper detect sensor arm. Or the sensor arm is broken and will need replacing. Check the tray springs also check the sensor arm you will see it if you remove the cassette and look inside there will be a black plastic lever hanging down when you put paper in this lever should go up as the paper acts as a barrier thus telling the machine that there is paper in it.

Thanks J

PRINTING BLANK SHEETS

You need to put the test page that was printed into the scanner part of the printer and then press the scan/blue button. This is so the printer can calibrate the new ink. When you have done that the next time you turn on the printer a blank page will not be printed. When you next change ink you will have to repeat the above procedure.
