Clock battery is dead. It's a small button battery located inside the camera. The part number is: MS614. Hope this helps.

in most of digital cameras there is a small rechargable battery or a capacitor bank used to store settings in memory for few minutes. if that battery is dead it cant hold settigns at memory.

Everytime I turn on my computer, I have to do F1 and reset the time and date. How do I replace the battery? It has gotten so bad, sometimes I have to press and hold start button, turns off and restart it

Hi philco1977,

Good day. The BIOS prompts you to press F1 key and reset the time and date in your system. This is caused by a CMOS battery that needs to be replaced in your motherboard which is unable to save the time and settings in your computer. In order to replace the CMOS battery, you must open your computer and in the motherboard you may see a coin cell battery. You can take it out using you hand or you may use a flat screw driver or a knife. Make it sure that when you do the replacement the computer must be turned off. Once you are done with the replacement you may have to go again to the BIOS and reset the settings again including the time and date and it will never prompt you anymore to reset you time and date settings.

Thanks,

I have to reset date time etc everytime i turn camera on

If the Date/Time menu appears when the camera power is turned on, the date battery charge is low and the date and time settings have been lost. Please purchase a lithium coin battery (CR1220) and replace it as follows.

1. Confirm that the camera power is turned off.
2. Slide the memory card slot / battery cover lock and open the cover.
3. Hook your nail onto the date battery holder and lightly pull up.
4. Remove the battery holder in the direction indicated by the arrow. a570isbackupbatremove.gif 5. Remove the battery by pulling it up in the direction indicated by the arrow.

7. Replace the battery holder and close the memory card slot / battery cover.
8. When the Date/Time menu appears set the date and time.

Camera keeps loosing the time and date settings. When turning the camera on the lens does not open, then a screen asking to set the date and time settings appears - once date reset the camera works...

have you check the settings for time and date have you saved it? You can also try to remove the cam battry for 2 mins. then put it back in then turn on the camera and then after few secs. turn it off, then see if the issue persist.

My M863 changes the date intermittently to a random date & if I don't see the date when turning on the camera it dates the pic's incorrectly. Thanks.

hello,

Everytime you removed the battery of your camera, date and time will be reset. You have to set the date and time correctly.

Follow the steps below.

1.Press the Menu button.
2.select the Setup Tab, it has camera w/ tool icon
3.Scroll down until you select Date and Time
4.Press Ok then set the date and time.

Thanks.

Clock always reset to default upon power up

Either the replacement battery was dead or the camera needs to be serviced. If the date/time needs to be reset every time the camera powers up, the camera is not receiving the power it needs from the date battery.

Date time setting does not program

There is not an option to remember the date/time when you power off the camera. The camera should always remember the time. If it forgets the setting when you power it off then your backup battery has gone dead. Check your manual to see if it is something you can replace yourself. I am not familiar with this camera specifically but some cameras make the backup battery accessible and some require disassembly. David Millier Advance Camera Repair
