My gas clothes dryer is working, but it is not blowing hot air

The thermostat or thermal fuse could be blown. Usually happens when lint buildup blocks the exhaust exit & the heat stays inside the machine. So to prevent a fire, the thermal fuse or thermostat blows. You would have to enter your model # on google to find links to parts breakdown.

I have a Kenmore Series 70 Dryer and I changed the thermal fuse got hot for a few minutes the model #110.74722400

The cycling thermostat must also be replaced when replacing the thermal fuse. The cycling thermostat's failure to cycle off the heating element results in overheating of the dryer which consequently blows the thermal fuse open.

Replacing only the thermal fuse should the dryer stops running and fails to start will result in its premature blowing or even the thermal cut-out (cut-off) located on the heater duct. Like the cycling thermostat, the high-limit thermostat must also be replaced once the thermal cut-out blows open. Refer to the parts diagram in the link below and look for item numbers 31(thermal cut-off), 34(hi-limit thermostat), 39(thermal fuse), and 41(cycling thermostat.

KEEPS BLOWING THERMOSTATS

usually the thermostats blow when the dryer runs to hot so you don't have a fire, most likely the dryer needs to be cleaned out and the vent line has to be cleaned, you didn't send the model number or brand name so do this, unplug the dryer, you have to remove the filter and clean the duct that the filter slides into, most of the time you have to take the dryer apart to do this right.then blow out and vac all the lint in the cabinet where the motor is.now go outside, make sure the vent is open,if there's a cage on it or screen remove it,all it does is block the lint and then the air can't blow through building up lint in the line,i take the vent line off the back of the dryer, stick a leaf blower in it and blow the line out,i've had people say the line was clear,i go there, blow out the line and on two occasions i blew out birds nest.when the dryer is clean, change out the thermostats that are bad and you'll be fine

Roper dryer model REX 3514RQ1. dryer works for/then quits. help!!

I have seen this before. You have got to remove the housing for the filter. Blow out the area around the blower and get the junk out of there. Wash out the filter housing.

Dryer is working but won't heat. Its just blows cold air. Help please the model is a hotpoint dryer nvlr333evoww.

Thermostat controls heat. There is also a

motor centrifulgal switch, in the element

circuit, that the motor closes to insure

the motor is turning. Try another heat

setting. There is more than one

thermostat. You may have blown the

'thermal fuse' too, whcih requires

replacemant.

Dryer doesnt work but i hear the timer working

Change your cycling thermostat. When your cycling thermostat fails, then the reponsibility of your heating element to shut down goes to the high-limit thermal shut off (closest to heat element) and the thermal fuse. Your cycling thermostat should shut down heat element when it detects about 140* air in the blower housing. Yours can't detect that anymore so it lets your dryer heat up and up till you blow the thermal. new cycling thermostat and thermal
