Question about Samsung LN-T3253H 32 in. LCD Television

1 Answer

I have a 32 inch Samsung LCD TV. For some unexplained reason it keeps turning the volume down by itself. I have tried the obvious, like taking the batteries out of the remotes and then turning the volume up on the set itself but within seconds the volume decreases. HELP

Warning! Pull out the cord first!!! Open the TV take the tester and check over the mini board with the buttons, there might be the Vol- button in shortcut, or get some water. If its short, must replace, if there are water/ liquid/ oxyds traces, take a toothbrush, put a little of alcohol, and gently clean the place, after that dry it with a hairdryer.

Your TV is probably competing with the same remote control frequency as one of your neighbours and the volume then takes a life on of its own. The TV and remote can be retuned to a new frequency....this is the problem in the Blue Ray age. Ours use to ride up and down 50 up and then 50 doown like a roller coaster....then our next door neighbours moved out and it stopped. You must also consider that the broadband and telephone system could also interfere as most small appliances use similar frequencies...I would see the word BT vision pop up on my DVD player everytime this was happening, and we had both sky TV and Orange broadband....so no BT products being used in our home...it was a nightmare...I am told that changing the frequency and retuning the TV often solves the problem.

Try plugging the "cable" into another tv ... if it still does it then its the cable.
are you turning up/down the sound on the Samsung or the Cable?
and what do you mean by "cable hook up"?

You say the remote doesn't work but it may well be the problem. Take the batteries out of the controller then try using the tv using the controls on the TV.

Samsung le40r74bd problem

I just had this problem with my 3 year old 32" Samsung LCD. The volume would go up and down by itself, normally just constantly going up even when it reached 100%.

I thought it might have something to do with the volume buttons on the TV itself so seeing as it was out of warranty anyway I decided to unplug it and open it up.

I gave it a good clean and I disconnected the cable for the panel of buttons on the LCD itself (volume, menu, channel etc) seeing as I never use them anyway. I then put everything else back together and tested.

It seems to be working fine now. Previously (for the past 3 hours) ever time I turned it on the volume level would come on instantly and stay on until I turned the TV off. So I’m quietly confident the problem has been fixed. But I must admit it’s only been 10 minutes, so who knows, it might come back.

I need to re tune my samsung tv but have no remote any ideas?

you can always use the button on your Tv itself.

ie menu = Menu
Channel up/down = take you up and down
volume = goes left and right.

follow these steps

Menu,
channel down button to CHANNEL
press the volume button along
channel down button to AUTO STORE
press the volume button to Start the scan.

right now you have your telly tuned in. What you could do it get an old sky remote off a friend/ neighbour. or buy from argos etc ( a lot cheaper then getting a replacement samsung one)

press the following buttons on the sky remote to program it to work with your samsung tv.

TV,
RED + SELECT
TV.
0060

try the volume if this works press SELECT to save this code if it doesnt press Tv then try the volume again. repeat this step until the volume works your telly. once it doest dont forget to press the SELECT button to save.

Now you will be able to change your volume use the number keys. if you also press the HELP button on the sky remote this will also change your AV / SOURCE I hope this post helps you out. When it does please leave a thumbs up for me Please

The volume is turning itself down all by itself. The volume on the remote won't work, but the remote is fine with the other TV controls.

It sounds like the button is stuck. Take the remote apart if you can and see if the key is stuck somewhere. This happened to me once with a rubber key type of remote. It drove me crazy.

I had a similar problem, checked all of the TV's control settings only to find out that my cable box had an independent "mute" function that automatically turned on the closed captions when activated. Once I found that and turned it off, all was fine.

Samsung 32 inch remote control problem

I had a similar problem. Take the batteries out of the remote, press down on the number 5 for about two minutes the put the batteries back in. This worked for me.
(I got this tip from a telesales advisor. I was close to buying a replacement remote but this tip worked. Hope it does for you. I'm not sure on the science part of it but it basically resets the remote. Good luck)
