When i type letters they come up with other letters that don't correspond with the keys I hit. I have the brother sx-4000

If you aren't in KBII or a language mode or P.S. pitch the printwheel homing pawl is probably broken. You need a tech.

I can turn it on and start to type if you hit the letter g you will not get the g

You didn't say if it printed any thing, space or do nothing at all. If it is nothing at all the keyboard is bad, if it spaces or prints 2 vert. lines you need a printwheel.

If you are not in a language mode or proportional Space you probably need a tech to replace the P/W homing pawl.

I have a brothers sx-4000 typewriter, i recently bought new ink ribbon. But for some reason my typewriter still does not print the letters at all. I know my typewriter is still good, I dont know why it...

There are two things that people mess up when changing printwheels and ribbons. Is that the ribbon is not in the guides properly. The other is that the latch the holds the type wheel is not locked in the forward position.

Try hitting [CODE] + [RESET] at the same time to reset the cartridge. Make sure the cassette is installed correctly.. the "ear" on the cassette should always be on the upper right.
