Hello
You have now connected your TV with your converter box as component video and AV. Now your TV is only the monitor for your converter box. You ahve to select the input selection on the TV to select the input as component video as far as video is concerned and to AV as audio is concerned. Get into the Menu of TV and come towards input selection page, and select component video as input for video, and AV-1 or AV-2 for audio according to which port you have connected the audio to. Normally page [28] of your TVs user manual has more details I thinks. If you haven't its user manual with you, send your email address to me by Fixya; I'll send a copy of it to you. If you want anymore clarification, feel free to get me by Fixya. Ok.

    According to your TVs inputs, you may have now connected converter output to either input-5 of input-6. Select it from the input selection menu window. There is an input selection button on the side of your TV, i can see. This button also can be used to select the inputs. OK.

Which dvd connection go to which TV connection.On the dvd I have component(white), video(red),audio(orange), y(green),Pb(blue) and Pr(red)

Connect yellow video from DVD to TV. Connect white audio and red audio from DVD to TV. These will be next to yellow jack. That is all the connections you need for picture and sound. Use RCA cables available at Radio Shack or Wal Mart.

Y/Pb/Pr outputs are green; needs

There is no calibration for the component video that I know of, check your cables you may have a bad Pr cable or the Pr/Pb ones may be mixed up.

Y (the green one) is for luminance, plug in ONLY this connector and you should see a black and white picture.

Now connect the Pr. You will now see red tones.

Now connect the Pb. And you will see blue tones.

Reverse the Pr and Pb and see what happens.

Oh and make sure you don't accidently have one plugged into a composite video or digital audio port.

Still not looking right?

Go into the input menu of the TV and change the component (or colourstream) input from RGB to Y/Pr/Pb. (most TVs do not have this feature.

Hope this helps!

Can't get anything to show on TV screen..No menu or anything..

I'm still confused. Walmart has this with pictures. This DVD player has regular RF Coaxial TV output and input. But, the best way to connect it would be Video Out and Audio Out for the connection from the DVD Player to the TV. I guess it has a tuner in it? or else why would it have a TV input on a DVD player?

Specifically the Pr, Pb, and Y connectors and the Red and White - Left and Right Audio Out connectors.

That would give you the best audio and video to most modern TV for last couple of years. (I don't see HDMI but that would be even better if it had that.)

So does your TV not have Component Video (Pr Pb Y) inputs? And Audio Left/Right inputs?

If not then you are connecting Coaxial Cable RF input to your tv? The TV would have to be in TV mode in this case and on the correct channel ... I would imagin Channel 3 or 4 of the old NTSC style TV channels. Most TV's still do those - even with the new Digital TV channels being active.

How to connect a dvd player to lcd tv

Your DVD player's output is Composite Video (the yellow connector) plus stereo audio (the red and white connectors, for right and left audio)

The inputs on your TV are for Component Video, which splits the video signal into three cables (Y for brightness, Pb and Pr for blue and red, respectively)

Check your TV to see if it has a composite input (single yellow connector, labeled "video" or "composite")

And be sure to let me know if this helps!

Connection for y pb pr cables

The color-coding used for the RCA connectors is nearly universal:
  • composite video - yellow
  • audio - red (right channel) and white (left channel)
  • component video - green (Y), blue (Pb) and red (Pr)
Also, these jacks are normally labeled in print as well, although it's sometimes hard to read the text on some equipment.

Match the connectors on your converter box to the corresponding connectors on the TV. If your converter box was one purchased with the $40 US Government coupon, it may not have the component video outputs. The only coupon-eligible boxes are the most basic models, and they sometimes have only RF (channel 3 or 4) and composite video outputs available.

What channel does tv need to be on to play dvd's

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Depending on where you are and the standards/connections used, it could be:
  • Channel 3 or 4 (if using a single coaxial patch cord);
Other connection possibilities are:
  • AV, Video 1, AUX, Line 1 (if using composite yellow red & white RCA to RCA cables);
  • Component (if using component Y, Pb, Pr, red & white RCA to RCA cables).
  • SCART;
  • HDMI;
  • S-Video.
Perhaps you could post back what is used, what connectors are available at the rear of both the DVD player/TV.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

Operating manual Panasonic NV-HD610 VCR

Hi this is tech crazy

May i help you on this issue .I have given gist of the manual.so that you save enough time by just having glance at it

The Panasonic VCR/VHS has an RF in and RF out sockets, it also has one red and one white audio out socket. It also has AV1 and AV2 sockets which are rectangular with many pin sockets which i believe are for scart cables. The video also has a switch for RF On, Off and Off(test Signal).

The sharp LCD has one an antenna in socket, AV1 (Red, Yellow and White sockets), S-Video, AV2 (Red, Yellow and White) and Component Y, Pb, Pr and Audio (Red and White)

To connect these two together in order to watch old video tapes on the television

take the out rf socket from the vcr and screw it on the sharp antenna and make sure that you have the tv on channel 3 or 4 which is normally the channels vcrs send the signal 2 and the rf should be on

Hope this solution helps you

Please do rate me Sir/madam

Our new Sharp LC-32SB24U has a box that comes and goes on the upper right hand corner that says audio and flahses the words stereo and audio and then goes away..any ideas?

Change up your connection. If you have a cable/satellite box, get rid of that coax cable connection and use red white and yellow RCA cables to connect and that will take care of the problem. if you dont have a cable box(but i bet you do), you will need to run your cable through another device because you cant do anything to turn that off. another device such as a vcr, cable box, or a converter box. hope that takes care of it, good luck 2u

Connection problem

The best hook up for this unit is to use the hdmi if your samsung box offers hdmi output. The panasonic vcr should be hooked to any one of the composit video inputs with the yellow video cable and the red and white audio cables. If the vcr does not have composite output then use a rf (coax cable) to antenna a input and put the tv on channel 3 or 4 as vcr is set for.
